Mechanical part

Anchor rope drum

The drum(s) is of a steel welded construction and runs on a bronze


sliding bearing. It is declutchable and can be stopped by means of
friction lined bandbrake.
The brake lining is asbestos free and seawater resistant. The brake bolt
and spindle are made of stainless steel, the brake rivets are of copper.
The brake anchor is welded on the winch foundation. The wire will be
connected to the drum by means of clips or a key.

Mooring drum (split)

The drum(s) is of a steel welded construction with a smooth surface


and runs on a bronze sliding bearing. It is declutchable and can be
stopped by means of friction lined band brake.
The brake lining is asbestos free and seawater resistant. The brake bolt
and spindle are made of stainless steel, the bake rivets are of copper.
The wire will be connected to the drum by means of clips or a key.
When using synthetic wires, the drum will be divided in a working and
storing part. The working part can easily be reached as a wide section
with rounded corners is missing in the intermediate steel flange.
A construction of the drum in this way, always allows to have a
maximum pull in the first layer.

Driving part

Electric motor

The electromotor is mounted from the outside to the winch with a


flange connection. The direct connection of the motor to the gearing is
provided by means of an elastic coupling. The electromotor is conform
the specific requirements for operation at ships., indicated by the
insulation class F and the protection IP 56.
For temperature differences and humidity conditions, the motor has
standard an anti-condensation heater. For the protection against
overheating, the motor for the anchor winches is equipped with a PTC,
whereas the other motors will be protected by means of a thermistor,
built-in in the starter box. Special consideration is also made for the
voltage drop on board of vessels; the standard 6% voltage drop for a
generator set is taken into account.

Hydraulic part

The complete hydraulic unit, comprising a motor, pump, filter,


steeringunit and piping, is mounted in a separate, closed part of the
gear housing.
The winch is filled with hydraulic oil and tested and adjusted during the
workshop test.
The mounting of the hydraulic part in this way avoids any leakages on
deck. Possible leaking oil is running back into the tank (combined tank
and running place).
The winch is running with a stepless in both directions, which allows a
variation of force and speed.

General

Included in our delivery is the closed winch/deck foundation for welding


on the deck. The winch is bolteddown on the foundation.

All steel parts are blasted SA 2,5 and covered with a three layer paint
system according to SEC standards.

The multistep spur gear is mounted in the closed welded housing. The
main shaft is fitted with sliding bearings made of seawater resistant
bronze and tightened by means of radial sealing rings, running on
bronze bushes. Other shafts are fitted with roller bearings.
Tooth wheels are made of cast steel or normal steel and are running in
an oil bath. The gearbox is filled with oil.
