INTRODUCTION:
This experiment purpose is to identify the matter that is suitable to use on salt water.
First, used two types of plastic bottles that is LDPE an HDPE, aluminium, coin, clay, toy
boat and wood. This materials was choose to investigate if density is important to float
some of them. Also, to observe whether mass is affecting the buoyancy of the matter or
not.

OBJECTIVE:
1. To identify the matter that is suitable to use on salt water.
2. To investigate if density is important to float some material.
3. To show that mass is effecting the buoyancy of the matter.

HYPOTHESIS:
The higher the density of water, the object will be easier to float.

PROCEDURE:
1. Weight the LDPE plastic bottle and record.
2. Fill 2 basins with salt water and tap water and label them.
3. Place the LDPE plastic bottle in the basin of salt water and observe.
4. Place the LDPE plastic bottle in the basin of tap water and observe.
5. Record the observation of the experiment in a table.
6. Repeat the experiment using HDPE plastic bottle, aluminium, coin, clay, toy boat
and wood and repeat the experiment by following step 1 to 5.

EXPECTED RESULTS:

DISCUSSION:
In this experiment,we have found that LDPE and HDPE plastic bottles, aluminium and
toy boat has float on salt water and also tap water. Meanwhile, coin, clay and wood does
not float on the salt and tap water. This result shows us that the lower the mass of
materials,it is easier for the object to float.Salt water and tap water does not have a low
density so that is why the object managed to float on the surface.

CONCLUSION:
Density, mass and types of materials will affect the buoyancy of the object. The lower
the density, the object will float easier. The lower the mass, the easier the matter will
float.
