To whom it may concern,
Julie Quackenbush has been observing and assisting me since mid-February. I
teach special education with Kindergarten-3rd graders. I have mostly students with speech and language delays and specific learning disabilities on my caseload. I also work with a student who recently was identified as having an intellectual disability, as well as students with other health impairments. However, the special education classroom is a shared space with another special education teacher as well as four paraprofessionals. We work very closely together and assist each other where needed. So, I also help students with emotional behavioral needs and students with Autism as well. Lawrence-Lawson is an inclusive school with school-wide PBIS and RTI. During the time that Julie has been here, she has observed pull-out instructional groups as well as in-class support in the general education classrooms. She is very willing to jump in and help students become successful learners. I have seen that she is very understanding of students different abilities and learning styles. She is flexible and adjusts her approach if she sees that what she is doing is not working. Inquisitive is another word I would use to describe what I have seen of Julie. She is reflective and wants to learn a plethora of techniques that she can keep in her teacher toolbox to use now and in the future. I have fully enjoyed having Julie as a part of my day and I wish her the very best. I know she will be a great addition to any school she works at! Sincerely, Beth Roose
