Adems de ser una de las 7 maravillas del mundo, las Cataratas del Iguaz tambin cuentan
con una de las leyendas ms apasionantes. La leyenda cuenta que en las aguas sola vivir Boi,
una serpiente monstruosa de dimensiones impresionantes que se alimentaba de humanos. La
tribu guaran todos los aos deba darle a Boi una joven mujer a modo de ofrenda, lo que
supona cada ao un sacrificio femenino de alguna joven de la tribu. Todo cambi con la
llegada de un valiente joven llamado Tarob, quin se enamor de la muchacha aborigen que
iba a ser la ofrenda de ese presente ao y decidi escapar con ella en una canoa por las aguas
de las Cataratas. Boi se enter de esto y transform al joven en los rboles que hoy pueden
verse en las Cataratas y a los largos cabellos de la joven en la cada del agua. A pesar del
intent de Boi de separar el amor de los jvenes, durante el da un hermoso arcoiris cruza las
Cataratas y une nuevamente a los dos amantes.

The Iguazu Falls are a set of waterfalls that are located on the Iguaz River, on
the border between the Argentine province of Misiones and the Brazilian state
of Paran

Besides being one of the 7 wonders of the world, the Iguazu Falls also have one of the
most exciting legends. Legend has it that Boi used to live in the water, a monstrous
serpent of impressive dimensions that fed on humans. Every year the Guarani tribe
had to give Boi a young woman in the form of an offering, which meant each year a
female sacrifice of some young woman of the tribe. Everything changed with the arrival
of a brave young man named Tarob, who fell in love with the aboriginal girl who was
to be the offering of that year and decided to escape with her in a canoe through the
waters of the Falls. Boi learned of this and transformed the young man into the trees
that can be seen today in the Falls and the long hairs of the young woman in the fall of
the water. Despite the attempt of Boi to separate the love of the young, during the day
a beautiful rainbow crosses the Falls and unites the two lovers again.
