A day in the life of a science coordinator / teacher:


Focus: On the many roles of the science coordinator / teacher within the school:

Objectives:
For student teachers to:
Continue to develop positive working relationships with both the teacher and the students by
acting as a TA within the classroom under the direction of the MST.

MST start to prepare the class for students by writing the

They spent the first session doing Arabic Test, its kind of

I notice that Arabic teacher was walking around to


Arabic Test explaining the summative assessment for them, and she
responded for their misunderstanding questions.

My MST was monitoring students for the whole period


and she gave them their needs such as pencils or
sharpener

The teacher asked student to collect their stuff including:


files, books and pencil cases to take morning break

Morning Break She helped students to bring their box lunch, besides she
gave them the freedom to sit in any group.
I observed that they enjoying eating and talking with
their friends, there was some intervention by the teacher
to reminds them about break time rules and asking them
to reduce their voice.

Figure 6 all of students were sitting with their friends


talking and eating.

The two-next period is about grammar which is


adverbs, verbs and adjectives.
10:15 The teacher prepares the Data Show device to display
English period: Adverbs, the activity which is classifying the words into two

As a part of the students involving the teacher gave


students two different roles which is controlling and
answering.

Each Monday, grade two teachers implementing an


Special English activity: activity for grade two students called English house

My MST was the responsible of divers learners, she let


them open their book and draw something describe this

It was amazing session, I saw that all of us enjoyed


observing students drawing.

The next session was math, the teacher gave them a


lesson about rounding and identifying number using line
numbers.

12:00 She used different kinds involving students strategies,

individually. However, once they finished she required
from them to share their answers with their groups
member besides her checking.

To break the routine from lecturing and activities, my
MST decided to display a video or song for students that
explaining the fossils formation in an attractive way.
Science: fossils formation
1:00 I noticed that made science much appealing and
acceptable for students. That made sense of fun in
science classes.

My MST and I, utilized the lunch break time to do a

I had a beneficial consultation with experienced teacher,
besides that we determine dates for MST and MCT
observation.

Hint: its was such a busy and productive day for both of us, we had only one
lesson and its less than hour for break and even that we utilized it to work for
school and college stuff.

Reflection

Observing the noticeable details in sciences teacher helped me to recognize that practical impact
could one teacher created in the society or generation. However, this task contributes to show me
the most necessary element should each teacher have to build an organized and well-equipped
school day which is planning.
As I observed, the teacher creates a lesson plan for each subject that she is going to teach.
Besides, she wrote a note for the duties that she has to finalize it in the specific day. Personally, I
believe that being well- prepared contributes to explain the clear and coherent procedure for
students. Furthermore, my MST was ready to cope with any issues happened during the lesson.
For instance, she taught the lesson on the whiteboard by writing the relevant points from slides
because there was a technical problem with data show device.

Another contributed factor for making successful school day for science
teachers is to perform a high level of professionalism and real
commitment. From my observation, I do believe that taking your
responsibilities as teacher carefully could improve your personal
professionalism which a primary characteristic for teachers. Besides, I
would like to the point that the teacher employed to spent her job day
investing effective strategies and techniques for students. Figure 1 here the teacher was
writing the important points of
each slide.

Consequently, to be the experienced and well-prepared teacher, you must have awareness about
valuable aspects such as having a good relationship with parents. From my discussion with my
MST, I understand that promoting the positive relationship with parents increasing the trust
between them and encouraging the child to learn effectively.

All in all, I learned useful skills from reporting a day of science teacher which helped me to
recognize the role of science teacher within the school.
