3078 SX Organic Cleaning Temporary System (Pilot Operation)

The Scope of Work is to install a Temporary SX Organic Cleaning System. The system is only to be used
for the interim to address recovery issues until a permanent system is installed in the SX area. The
system is of high priority to improve recovery and contamination of the organic SX reagent. The
temporary solution is based on the use of existing redundant equipment and available spares from
other areas of the operation. Local fabricators are used to modify the available equipment to provide
a Band-Aid interim solution.

Specific care is required during the operation of the system, since it has not been purpose built for the
cleaning of EX rated organic material. It is recommended that additional CO2 fire protection equipment
is near during operation and that shielding is installed around the area.

The design and modification is in accordance with MOC-1702-035-SX.

Only basic design has been done and sketches are provided to assist with installation. Most of the
detail will be coordinated on site for this work. The work is to be in accordance with Figure 1 and the
system will be located in close proximity of the existing filter press Figure 2.

The scope of work and division of responsibility are:

Fabrication of a stand to hold IBC to higher elevation than modified tank JN-BSC-001 NPMC/
Vipco
Modification of tank JN-BSC-001 as presented in Figure 3 NPMC/ Vipco;
Fabrication of stand for JN-BSC-001 to allow for forklift movement and also elevate JN-BSC-
001 to provide a straight suction line into the provided air-diaphragm pump NPMC/Vipco;

Fabrication of agitator support frame as per Figure 4 configuration. Dimensions to be adjusted

to accommodate tank JN-BSC-001 (Figure 3) and agitator SX01-RW-595 NPMC/ Vipco (Figure
5);
Pump - Inspect air-diaphragm pumps materials of construction (diaphragm, balls) and
confirm suitability for application. Rotate discharge 180 degrees. Increase suction to DN50.
Test pump NHTCM (Figure 6)
Filter - NHTCM
o The feed and discharge into the existing filter will be as per Figure 7.
o Three active plates will be used, with two modified blank installed directly adjacent
to the active plates to stop flow to the remaining plates in the filter.
o The blank plates are fabricated from existing plates. Modifications included the
blocking all ports with suitable material. The cavities of the modified plates will be
filled with sand and welded sheet plate placed over the sand to keep it in tact. The
blank plates will be covered by cloth material
Preparation of support bases for new equipment including grout to allow for a budget area
around the equipment to retain spillage NPMC/ Vipco;
Installation of valves as per Figure 1 NPMC/ Vipco
Provision of nitrogen bottles NPMC/ NHTCM
Provision of air take-off point for pump supply NPMC/ NHTCM
Provision of holding down bolts, fasteners and installation of the Companys free issued
equipment NPMC/ Vipco;
Generate a MTO and isometric drawings for field run piping NPMC/ Vipco;
Supply, manufacture and installation of piping in accordance with approved isometric
NPMC/ Vipco;
Provision and installation of piping supports and fasteners where applicable NPMC/ Vipco
Provision of all cabling and instrumentation for power supply and controls to agitator NPMC
Provision of IBC transportation cradle. Cradle will provide bund to contain spillage, be
transportable by forklift, crane or hoist NPMC/ Vipco
Test packs for all works in accordance with the Companys standards and requirements.
Piping

The piping used for installation is CS.

All solution lines will be DN50;
All air, nitrogen or CO2 lines will be DN25;
