Pre- Requisites:
Students are expected to have basic knowledge of DC/AC machines and power
electronics.
Course Objective:
The objective of this course is to make students familiar with the different type of electric
drives existing in the industrial use, their modes of operation, selection criteria for drive
on the basis of application, stability analysis of drives and the controlled operation of DC
and AC drive.

Class Test (CT) [30 marks]:- Three class tests will be conducted in a semester and
best two out of three will be selected for calculation of class test marks. Each class test
is of 15 marks. Question paper pattern is same as university pattern.
Teacher Assessment (TA) [10 marks]: Three assignments will be conducted in the
semester. Teacher assessment will be calculated on the basis of performance in class
test and assignments.
Attendance (AT) [10 marks]: Attendance marks will be given as university policy.

Course Objective:
The objective of this course is to introduce students how electricity is generated through
conventional and non conventional energy sources with development of knowledge of
economics of generation , fixation of tariffs and development of skills in calculation of
load characteristics and economic load scheduling.

Course Objective:
Analog and Digital communication uses electrical signaling methods to transmit information
over a physical channel separating a transmitter and receiver with the channel properties often
time varying. This course presents the theory and practice of analog and digital communication
including signal design, modulation methods, demodulation methods, wireless channel basics
and the applications.
