Introduction:
The K-12 transition program
The K-12 Transition Program
Investing in the future of Philippine higher education

Between 2016 and 2021, Philippine universities are expecting a large decline of
their undergraduate intakes due to the lengthening of the secondary education
system. Up to 25,000 faculty and university staff are expected to be displaced.

However, CHED is viewing this transition period as an opportunity to increase the

proportion of faculty holding postgraduate degrees which currently hovers
around 50%. Many specializations are not yet offered in the Philippines and therefore
must be taken overseas.

public:

Comparative advantages of France for Filipino students
over EU or other alternatives

1. France enjoys a world-class higher education system, with

many of our universities present in Top 250 international rankings

living fees) for international students as well, thereby resulting in
one of the highest cost-to-quality yields available
3. More and more courses are offered entirely in English, making
France accessible to English-speaking students
4. The French economy excels in sectors where expertise is needed
by the Philippines to develop their higher education sector, such
as tourism or engineering
