Focus Group

At an early stage of the preliminary work, I held a focus group

in order to find two things out; what the title of my magazine
and what the genre of my magazine should be. I filmed the
responses of my focus group as they answered my questions. I
ensured that as my target audience was white teenage girls,
that I mainly interviewed them. When I asked the first question
What should my magazine be called? I gave them a list of
possible names. They all thought that The Buzz was the best
title for the magazine as they said it made the magazine seem
very energetic. I then asked them What genre of music should
it focus? Two people said Rock while all the others said Pop
would be the best genre as it is the genre that appeals most to
them. I was hesitant about doing Pop as it is a hard genre to
express in the magazine but I decided to go along with what
the focus group had said.
