HewastheChiefGuestattheSecondConferenceofthe

JyotishshouldnotbecalledVedicAstrology.ForYagnasandKarmakandatheVedasaretheauthenticsource.For
thehouseholdersitistheSmritis.ButboththeVedasandSmritisareinthePuranas.JustastheentireCreationhas
emergedfromHim,sotootheentireliteratureoftheworldisanoffshootofthePuranas.Thereisnoiotaofdoubt
aboutit.IntheVedas,thereisnomethodologyprovidedtodetermineTithi,Vaar,Nakshatra,orplanetarySanchara
(transits).EventhemethodologyfordeterminingtimingofParvas(festivals),orEclipsesisnotmentionedinthe
Vedas.WhatisnotintheVedasisintheSmritis.Andwhateverisnotfoundinthesetwoistobeknownfromthe
