Leadership Philosophy

A school leader is a person who not only leads a school, but also guides, nourishes,
influences and motivates all members of a school community.

As a bilingual teacher, I saw and supported the idea that diversity is a beautiful aspect of
schools today. Student cultures and languages impact the success attributed to a school. So, the
ability to communicate, added with compassion, aids our ability to reach students, parents, staff
and community members. It is becoming increasingly important in the growing Texas
Educational System to embrace diversity around us and effectively communicate, to work
together peacefully, and educate all of those who enter our schools. Good communication and
education is the key weapon in the fight against ignorance and injustice.Thomas Jefferson.

A school leader embodies professionalism and rational decision-making, exemplifies

responsible behavior, and leads a school to success through structured systems, appropriate
supports, and hiring qualified, compassionate staff. They must expect for teachers to demand
that all students can and will learn, and must empower teachers to lead their classrooms with
rigor and relevance. As a principal, it is my still my job to not only advance students to the next
grade level, but also advance their ability to learn, help them to appreciate the need to learn,
teach them to value education and engage them in active learning, only now through leading
teachers and staff.

It is my belief that all children can learn and children will reach the limits set for them.
So, I set my expectations high, pushing for others to reach higher than they ever thought
possible. Instinctively, I have what it takes to be a valuable school leader. My basic philosophy
is whatever it takes. I will do whatever it takes to reach each person I connect with.

A good school leader must exhibit consistency, organization, fair treatment, honest, open
communication, structure and composure. They also must be a motivator (like a coach),
interested in their students lives, as well as their teachers lives, provide humor and above all,
reach for the excellence in all constituents of the school community.
