The divisional chart based on the 10th division of signs is called Dasamsa or Dasamamsa or
Karmamsa or Swargamsa.Principles of Analysis of Dasamsa Chart are as follows :

1. In Dasamsa Lagna / lord of the lagna assumes a tremendous signicance. If Lagna is

aspected by benecs, it becomes strong then it may be presumed that career of the native
stands on a good foundation provided, of course, Lagna chart does not tell altogether dierent
results.

2. If powerful Sun is posited in upachaya houses aspected by Jupiter, native is likely to get
recognition and eminence in career.

3. If Dasa lord is strong in lagna chart and poised to give good results but lacks adequate
strength in Dasamamsa, such Dasa lord may create uncertainties, under critical sub
periods. A sub dasa lord unfavourably placed in Dasamamsa from Dasa lord and aicted
with malec may even temporarily hold up anticipated results.

4. Planets in tenth house in Dasamsa during their ruling periods will better the prospects of
ones career.

5. If there is no planet in tenth house in Dasamsa, then its lord during its ruling period will
confer honour to the native.

6. Planets aspecting lord of tenth house in Dasamsa should also be considered powerful with
respect to ones profession.

7. The period of planets in kendra of Dasamamsa will be a mile stone in ones career.

Dasamsa or D-10 is used to shed more light on profession or career.

The 10th House represents the Karma or Profession. Planets in 10th House, planets
aspecting 10th House, 10th Lord and planets aspecting it and the Navamsha dispositor of
10th Lord decide your profession. The nature and Tatwa of the sign of 10th House also gives
us a clue about profession. Karakamsha (Navamsha of Atma Karaka) also gives us some
information. Similarly, understanding the nature of planets which become signicator for
profession and the planets exerting inuence on these planets is necessary.

Dasamsha or one-tenth part of the Rashi Kundali represents the Profession and is to be used
for detailed analysis while proling ones career. After you have extracted all the
information from Rashi chart then only proceed to D-10.

General happiness from career should be seen from dasamsa lagna.(strength of 10th lord
should also be seen from D-10, apart from seeing it in D-9)

3rd, 6th, 9th, 12th house (that is houses Kendra from 3rd house) are of prime importance in
D10. [3rd lord,10th lord of lagna chart, association with these houses is very benecial and
auspicious], all the auspicious planets including 3rd and 10th lord (of lagna chart) are most
welcome in these houses.

The following factors indicate a good career, public life, recognition of ones work etc:

D-1 Lagna lord in D-10 lagna

D-1 LL in good houses in D-10 (Kendras, Trikonas, 2,11)
D-1 10th lord or planets in the 10th (of rasi) well placed in D-10

What do we mean by well placed?

1. In Kendra, Trikona, 2, or 11 and
2. No malec conjunctions or aspects

Now what do we mean by malec? Or benec for that matter? We will come back to this
point later.

Is Mars a malec in this context, with respect to career? Denitely not. Remember that the
so called malecs can give strength, resilience, perseverance and the capacity to work hard,
like an asura. In fact on the overall it is the malecs that give more scope for free-will, while
the benecs tell more about your previous merits (poorva punya). Remember malecs in
3,6,10,11? They are most well placed in the Upachaya houses.

Indicators of a good career or rise in career in the Dasamsa:

Strong 10th House in D-10: Status, recognition and great achievements

Planets in the 1st or 1st lord in D-10
Planets in Kendras and Trikonas: Good

Important: D-10 is to be analysed as chart by itself

Following are the likely results of the analysis of D-10.

Lagna Lord in Own House / exalted Good job.

Karakas for profession, namely Sun, Saturn and Mercury, if any one of them in own
house Good job.

Sun in own house / exalted good job and will become a good leader in politics.

Sun or Saturn in Upachaya (3,6,10 and 11) Good job

9th Lord in 9th House Success in profession.

Venus alone in 8th House Lucky and excellent success in profession.

D-10(dasamsa) is yet another important chart which helps one to analyze their career,
which is nothing but a detailed expansion of the 10th house of the Rasi chart D-1. As in the
rasi chart, the houses in dasamsa also carry importance and bhava specications. D-10
lagna holds a huge signicance while analysing one's career. When the Lagna lord of D-10
chart is favourably placed in exaltation or at own house or at a kendra/trikona sthana, one
earns authority and respect in their career. Career turns out to be fruitful if Jupiter aspects
the D-10 lagna or D-10 lagna Lord. When the lagna lord is placed at 6th house, one has to
overcome indirect disadvantages/enemies at workplace. When in 8th house, the native has
to face sudden ups and downs in his/her career. But it doesn't prove detrimental to success.
However success will be a hard earned one. When in 12th house, uncertainty prevails with
regard to career. Favourable results or elevations in career is promised in the dasha or
antardasha periods of planets in Kendra houses or the lords of the kendra houses of the D-
10 chart. It is also equally important to analyse the position of the 10th lord of D-1 chart in
