Ear-rings from Frankfurt

Chapter 1:

1. How does the story begin? The story begins in the office of
Dr. Gibson, where Jennifer works.
2. Whats Jennifer job? She is a nurse
3. Why is she in a hurry? Because she is late for a dinner with
his friend.
4. Who comes to visit her and what does he want? Her
brother Richard and he want that Jennifer borrow him money.
5. Where do Jennifer and Claire go? At Maxims Restaurant.
6. What was going on there? A Birthday party for a girl.
7. What happened to an old man? Mr Kelly felt down and
injured his head.
8. What was a girl wearing in her ears? Expensive gold ear-
rings.
9. What happened to this girl? The police arrested her and took
her to the police station.

Chapter 2:

1. Why was Dr. Gibson a bit cross with Jennifer? Because

someone called asking for Jennifer and he doesnt want phone
calls during surgery hours.
2. After Jennifer had finished work, she went home. Who
was waiting for her at her flat door? Two detectives.
3. What do the two detectives tell Jennifer about her
brother? That he works for a criminal and theyre searching
some stolen jewellerys and that her brother knows something.
4. Why does Wendy want to see and talk to Jennifer? She is
afraid and needs to talk with someone and Richard said that his
sister is a really nice person.

Chapter 3:

1. Wendy works for Joe Kelly, why is she afraid of him? He

gets very angry went someone doesnt do what he wants and
go very angry and his face goes red.
2. Who found this job for Wendy? Wendys Parents.
3. Why doesnt she leave this job? Because its difficult to find
a new job in the city.
4. Whats Joe Kelly business? Sell pictures, jewellery and other
things.
5. What does Joe Kelly ask Wendy to do? He asked her to go
to a business trip to Germany, Frankfurt.
 6. Why does Joe Kelly get cross at Wendy? Because she
refuses to go to Frankfurt.
7. Who was at the airport waiting for Wendy? Why? Richard.
Because Kelly told him to go with her, he doesnt trust Wendy.
8. How did the German police know about the meeting
point to arrest the criminals? Richard phoned from the Hotel
and explained them the plan.
9. Why do the German police want to carry on with Kellys
plan? Because they want to arrest Kelly and his friends, not
only the German Criminals.
10. What does Joe Kelly want to give Wendy as a
present? Why? A gold ear-ring. Because is her birthday and
Kelly likes her.
11. Why does Wendy accept Kellys present and a party
for her Birthday? Because Richard told Wendy to accept the
present because they dont want to become suspicious and they
want to carry with the plan. Richard wants the police to arrest
Kelly.
12. Early the next morning, Richard comes to Kellys
office before his boss. What does he want to do? What
does Richard find? Richard asks Wendy the keys of Kellys
office for searching information about all his work. When he is
searching in Kelly draws, Richard discovers an important letter
about the eggs
13. Why does Joe Kelly dismiss Richard from his job?
Richard refused to do another Job Kelly ask him to do.

Chapter 4:

1. Who is talking to Jennifer and why? Wendy, she is telling

her story.
2. Who arrived at Jennifers house just a few minutes later?
Her brother Richard and two policemen.
3. What was Kelly doing when the police went to arrest
him? He was at his house in a meeting with two men where he
was selling the stolen jewellery.
4. Is Richard going to go to prison? Why? No, because the
German police talked with the British police and explained
everything to them.
5. Why does the policeman tell Wendy that she will have to
find a new job? Kelly was arrested and is going to pass a lot
of years in prison.
6. Can Richard give the money that her sister lent him back
to her? Why? Yes, because he found another job.
