number and a one-digit number, and adding a two-digit

operations, and/or the relationship between addition and
(week 5.2)
subtraction; relate the strategy to a written method and
explain the reasoning used. Understand that in adding two-
digit numbers, one adds tens and tens, ones and ones; and
sometimes it is necessary to compose a ten.

envelope and return it (only return envelope).

Final Quarter Meet the Author/Storyteller Joe Hayes

We have 8 more weeks together to get your student
ready for second grade. Practice the weeks high
frequency words and phonics skills. The list for all of
Unit 5 is posted on the website and was sent home
last week (on blue paper). Practice makes progress!

orders for his books so you can have one
signed. We will have parent activities in
the classroom that morning too.
