SUSTAINABLE PROJECT MANAGEMENT
The role of a Project Manager is becoming
ever more demanding, and ever so exciting!
These days the Project Manager is not only
responsible for delivering the result of the
project on time and according to budget,
but also how to do so in a sustainable way.
For some Project Managers this is already
a reality, but for others the change is in the
pipeline. Having to take sustainability into
account throughout the organizational work
may seem challenging, but using the project
processes is a very effective way of turning
the organizations sustainability goals into
practice.
Sustainable Project Management is the
training course that teaches you just that.
It takes you through all stages of a project
while considering the three Ps (People,
Planet and Profit), turning you into a Project
Manager with a focus on sustainability. The
training is based on well-established pro-
ject processes such as the ISO-21500 and
guidelines for sustainability such as the UN
Global Compact and the Global Reporting
Initiative.
BACKGROUND
All projects are important for the success of an
organization and increasingly so is the focus on
sustainability. Projects produce the results that
give us new or altered products, services, pro-
cesses and organizations. Sustainable projects
go even further. They can increase sales, improve
customer relations, reduce costs, improve the
working environment as well as the natural envi-
ronment, increase staff motivation and give add-
ed value to the organization. This hands-on train-
ing course takes the project members through all
stages of a project, guiding step-by-step on how
to make a project sustainable.
TARGET GROUP
This training course is for anyone involved in
projects and/or sustainability issues in their or-
ganization i.e. project managers, sustainability
managers, project clients, members, head of
operations, procurement, etc. No experience re-
quired! Everyone who has an interest in devel-
oping their ability and understanding of working
with projects in a sustainable way can apply.
GOALS and OBJECTIVES
After completing the training course the partic-
ipants will be able to plan, implement and com-
plete a sustainable project as a project manager.
Participants will learn practical methods, tech-
niques and administrative procedures by prac-
tice and theory throughout the training. After
the course you will be able to identify what the
business management, customers and the pro-
ject team expects from you and have a greater
understanding of which results your project can
acquire. You will gain a deeper understanding of
how your project affects and can be affected of
the environment and how this can be used as a
benefit for the success of the project.
STRUCTURE
The training course is provided as a Classroom
Training for groups of up to 20 participants. It
includes a mix of short lectures with discussions,
group work and case studies for each session.
Group work is intended to train the participants
on how to use the various sustainable project
management tools in an applied situation. The
theories and methods applied in the training are
established and proven. Language used in the
training course is English.
