History

Griggs International Academy, GIA, began in 1909. It is one of the oldest

international learning programs in the world. Griggs is part of Adventist
Education with almost 8,000 schools the worlds second largest private
education network. Today, more than 1,000,000 people have studied with the
worldwide network of Griggs.

Introduction of Huamei International School affiliated with GIA

Guangzhou Huamei International School, founded in 1993 by a group of
returned overseas Chinese scholars from Canada. Accredited by the Chinese
governmental education departments, our school now ranks one of the best
private boarding schools in Guangdong Province.

We provide professional education programs ranging from kindergarten to

Grade 12 (K-12): Kindergarten, Elementary School (Grade 1 through 6), and
the Secondary School (Grade 7 through 12).

Currently, we have about 300 professional teachers, including nearly 50

international teachers from America, Canada, Britain, Australia, Germany, etc.
Located in Londong, Tianhe District (the newest and most thriving region
in Guangzhou), covering 18 hectares of beautiful campus, Huamei is a well-

1. Qualifications

Native English speaker from USA, Canada, UK and Australia are

preferable.
Bachelor degree or above, teaching certificates are necessary *
Background in subjects including but not limited to math, physics,
chemistry, biology, IT, English literature, social studies, business, etc. *
Teaching experience above 2 years is preferable.
Good command of communication skill
Passion for teaching and experiencing different cultures
Good health and friendly personality

2. Salary:

Salary scales for program teachers are based on teachers educational

background and work experience as bellow:
250,000RMB/year (before tax ) as starting point and 10,000RMB/year
(before tax) added with the increase of work experience/year. The
maximum salary is 290,000RMB/year (before tax).
The contract is 12 months among which work months are little less
than 10 months, 2 months are holiday months.
3. Benefits

Work Visa and Residence Permit: The school will arrange work visa
and residence permit for the teacher.
Medical Insurance: The school offers Ping An Health Group Medical
Insurance.
Airfare: To reimburse 2000 US dollars for the teachers economy class
round trip airplane ticket upon completion of the contract.
Housing Accommodation: The School will provide a furnished
apartment with furniture and appliances. From the continuous second
contract year, the school can offer renting allowance.
Teaching Bonus: Range from RMB 2000-7000 based on teaching
evaluation results at the end of school year

4. Workload

30 teaching periods (40 minutes per period) are the full weekly
workloads (from Monday to Friday, except for holidays).
Work in the office for at least two hours per day Monday through
Friday.
