Office Order No.

15 - 07 1
Series of 2015

Subject: Continuation of Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) Pilot Programs

Between the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL)
& the Japan Patent Office (..I PO)

On 12 March 2012 , the IPOPHL has commenced the PPH & PCT-PPH Pilot Program
with JPO . The IPOPHL indicated that the pilot program would be implemented for three (3)
years and would end on 12 March 2015. The PPH is a framework in which an application
whose claims have been determined to be patentable in the Office of Earlier Examination
(OEE) is eligible to go through an accelerated examination in the Office of Later Examination
(OLE) with a simple procedure upon filing of a request.

In order to enhance and promote the utilization of the PPH Program, the IPOPHL and
the JPO have agreed to extend the pilot for another three (3) years commencing on 12
March 2015, under revised guidelines. Both the IPOPHL and JPO agreed to ease the PPH
requirements by adopting the PPH Mottainai for the new pilot program.

Inquiries and specific questions about this notice and PPH should be directed to Ms.
Gloria T. Salvado or Ms . Cristina P. De Guzman of the Bureau of Patents at telephone
number (+63-2) 238-6300 loc. 407 or via email togloria .salvado@ipoph il.gov.ph or
cristina .deguzman@ipophil.gov.ph.

This Order shall take effect on 12 March 2015.

For guidance.
