MATRIX REIMPRINTING UPDATES, REFINEMENTS AND DISTINCTIONS

By Bennie Naude

This is a copy of an article published here:

Over the last few years Matrix has evolved and improved in some subtle, yet profound ways.

Because those practitioners or trainers who trained a long time ago may not necessarily be aware of
these changes, Ive put together a summary of some of them, as well as some refinements and
distinctions that I find useful.

KEEP THE INTRODUCTIONS SHORT & DE-TRAUMATISE THE ECHO ASAP

There is usually no need for long introductions when we meet ECHOs, e.g.

Explaining to them that youve come from the future to help them
That you are their future self
Thanking them for holding on to the problem, etc.

As soon as you encounter the ECHO, start tapping right away.

NO EFT REMINDER PHRASES OR RAMBLING REQUIRED

When you tap on ECHOs, there is no need for

repetitive EFT-type phrases, repeating the feeling e.g. This fear, This fear, This fear
or
never-ending rounds of intuitive (or rambling) tapping rounds, offering numerous reframes
and aspects, or

Instead, start tapping through all their points whilst talking to them as you would if you came across
someone real who was distressed e.g.

If the ECHO is young and scared, talk to them as you would to a scared child while you tap,
e.g. Youre really scared that hes going to hurt you, and thats ok, youre safe now, and I
and Im here to help you.

After a round or two, check with the ECHO who they feel; 9 times out of 10 theyre de-traumatised
and are ready to move on to the next step

SUDS ARE NOT REQUIRED FOR ECHOs

Theres no need for SUDs in the Matrix; the ECHO becomes the SUD i.e. if the ECHO is still upset, we
know theres work to be done.

ECHOS DONT NEED TO BE UBER-HAPPY TO MOVE ON; DE-TRAUMATISE, THEN
MOVE TOWARD RESOLUTION
Lets say you step into the matrix and encounter an ECHO that is in a traumatising situation. As soon
as youve made it safe for them (see proviso about taking them elsewhere below) and you start
tapping on them right away (as explained above), there is no need for the trauma to feel neutral or
good about the situation (as you may want to do with EFT).

As soon as the echo is de-traumatised (even if still upset), move on with the rest of the process,
remember that that the real resolution comes with reimprinting the resolution picture.

WANT TO TAKE THEM SOMEWHERE ELSE? RATHER FIND A RESOLUTION CLOSELY

RELATED TO THE ORIGINAL MEMORY
In the early days it was quite common to take echoes away from the original scene for
resolution/reimprinting purposes. E.g. if an ECHO was ridiculed for forgetting their lines during a
school play, we may have taken them to a beach and ended up reimprinting a picture where they
were having a great time with their family, friends, dogs and fairies.

As beautiful as the new picture may be, the issue here is this: if the original belief they took on was I
have to be perfect else Ill get hurt, reimprinting the scene on the beach will hardly reverse the
original belief.

Therefore, always work with your client and ECHO towards a resolution picture that is as close as
possible (yet, that installs the positive opposite belief) the original one.

In the example above, the ECHO may want to re-create the event so that they remember their lines
and get a standing ovation (new learning Its safe and feels great to be creative) or they may want
to still forget their lines but be loved and supported by everyone so that its not a big deal (possibly
learning that Im loved even if I am not perfect); remember to never, ever assume whats right for
the ECHO.

ALWAYS CHECK FOR BELIEFS

Sometimes the ECHO seems to be in a situation that is not particularly traumatising, or even seems
positive; you may even wonder why the memory is even showing up, since it all seems fine.

Even so always ask the ECHO what decision they made/belief they took on there

REMEMBER TO ASK THE ECHO HOW THEY WANT IT RESOLVED

Make sure that the ECHO tells you how they want the issue to be resolved, keeping in mind that we
want to end up with a resolution that allows the reimprinting of the positive opposite of the limiting
belief.

Especially if the physical client (in your chair) responds very quickly when you ask them Ask the
ECHO how theyd like to resolve this? check with them if the response was really the ECHOs, e.g.

Great, we can do that . and just check did that come from the echo or was that perhaps you
answering?

THE SUE (SUBJECTIVE UNITS OF EXPERIENCE) SCALE

Where SUDs range from 0 10 and we typically want to bring it down to 0 (neutral), the SUE scale
runs from minus 10 (negative) to plus 10 (positive).

Before you imprint pictures, make sure that its as close as possible to a 10 on the SUE scale by
asking,

When you look at that (new) picture now, how positive/high would you rate it on a scale of 0 10?

If the answer isnt 10, then follow up with What needs to change for it to be a 10?

Once its a 10 imprint away.

CREATING COMMUNITY FOR THE ECHO

Always create community (friends, family, loved ones, fairies, angels, animals) for the ECHO in the
resolution picture.

If they do not want it, find out why by asking a clean language question e.g. Ask the ECHO what it is
about having friends there that they dont want it?

This often leads to the uncovering of unresolved issues e.g. that the ECHO still doesnt feel safe with
other people, are afraid of being rejected etc. Once youve uncovered it you know what to do with it

tap,
revisit the memory youre currently working with to make sure its all resolved,
and/or regress to an earlier echo where they learnt that belief.

ALWAYS GET CLIENTS TO NOTICE HOW THE LIMITING DECISION TAKEN ON ALL
THOSE YEARS AGO ARE STILL PLAYING OUT
Once an ECHO has identified the limiting belief, ask the client if they can see how that belief is still
playing out in their lives today. Often this gets them totally by surprise, and the understanding of
WHY things have been the way theyve been and where it comes from, is hugely helpful.

WHATS THE CONNECTION?

When you do ECHO to ECHO regression, and end up with multiple memories, whether you work
with each one or not, it can be very useful to ask a client What is the connection between this
memory when you were 21 and got fired, 12 and got really sick, and 3 years old and being hit by your
brother? Often the connections clients make and the insights they come to are priceless. Be sure to

ask this as an open question (as above) rather than a closed, yes/no question like Is there a
connection between these events which is more likely to get a no answer.

ALLOW THEM TO DO THE WORK

Remember that as MR practitioners, we are simply the facilitators. Remind yourself that your client
and the ECHO are 100% capable of coming up with the solutions that are right for them; be
comfortable with silence.

After you have explained the next step of the process to the client, you can say to them You can do
that out loud or silently, inside yourself; if you do it silently, let me know when its complete or any
time if you need help = and then you just tap with them, in silence, and wait.

STRATEGISING WITH YOUR PHYSICAL CLIENT OUTSIDE THE MATRIX

Remember that you and your physical client are both there to help the ECHOs. It is therefore not
just OK, but advisable, to actively engage your physical client during the session; pull them out of the
matrix at any time if youre not sure how to proceed of when the echo wants something that youre
not sure is OK, decide the next steps with your (physical) client, and then go back into the matrix

TEST AT LEAST THREE TIMES

Testing is important because:

It immediately tells you if more work is needed

If the event has totally cleared up, it provides immediate proof to the client that something
has shifted
playing the new movie is in fact, a mini-reprint, strengthening

Good times to test:

immediately after the event has been reimprinted, e.g. When you play that old movie now,
what happens?
a day or two after
at the beginning of your next session

REIMPRINT, REIMPRINT and REIMPRINT AFTER AND BETWEEN SESSIONS

Help clients to take responsibility for their healing by telling them to reimprint their pictures daily
between sessions.

I often get my clients to draw it, tap on it and reimprint it; good times to reimprint is early morning
before you open your eyes, and night-time as you drift off to sleep.
