Scenario:
Presenting a programme with a factual basis is a weighty responsibility. Media producers need to
be certain that the way the collect, produce and present information gives a fair and balanced
picture to the audience. At the same time, there are all sorts of codes and conventions associated
with the medium. You will have considered the theory behind this style of film-making for another
project.
Now the challenge is to use the footage from your interview assignment to put together a 3-5
minute news package or documentary which could be used in a magazine programme for 16-25-
year-olds. For this you will need to script and record a voiceover, shoot GVs and a piece to camera
and then submit a completed edit, with professionally-presented studio script.
