Moanas Voyage to Te Fiti

Senior Project by Katie Dizon

Entrance
The front of the attractions building is an ancient Polynesian hut.

Waiting Queue
Inside the hut, the paintings on hanging banners glow and move as Gramma Tala tells
the legendary feats of demigod Maui, including how he stole the heart of Te Fiti. There
are also windows to see the beach and the island outside.

Loading Area, Vehicle

When riders enter the loading area, the voices of Moana and Maui give instructions.
Passengers ride in wooden boats carved with Polynesian designs and can seat up to
twenty-four people.

Ride
Room 1 - Ancient Voyager Boats
Riders enter a dark cave that is dimly lit by torches and has several ancient Polynesian
boats. Tulou Tagalou plays. Riders exit the cave by going through a waterfall.

Room 2 - Island of Motunui, Moana Leaves

Moana, Chief Tui, Sina, Gramma Tala, Heihei, Pua, and the rest of the villagers greet
riders to their island of Motunui and show their culture while singing Where You Are.
As riders reach the far side, the island is dark, black, and dying. There are no crops or
fish.

Moana must sail the ocean to return the heart of Te Fiti and leaves on her boat singing
How Far Ill Go (Reprise). Her necklace glows a bright emerald light. A constellation in
the shape of Mauis fishhook shines in the sky above the ocean, showing Moana the
way.

Room 3 - Moana Finds Maui

Moana finds the demigod Maui on his small island, who brags about his feats in Youre
Welcome.
Room 4 - Kakamora, Entrance to Lalotai
Riders narrowly escape the Kakamora, small pirates, by going through the gap between
their boats while they shoot blow darts. Riders reach the swirling entrance to Lalotai,
the realm of monsters, which is a dip.

Room 5 - Realm of Monsters

Riders visit the realm of monsters, which is below the sea. Colorful monsters pop out to
scare riders.

Room 6 - Tamatoa
Moana and Maui try to get his fish hook by keeping Tamatoa, a greedy, giant crab and
Mauis nemesis, distracted and singing Shiny. Tamatoa dances in his cave filled with
treasure and changes from shiny to glow-in-the-dark.

Room 7 - Te Ka
Moana and Maui fight Te Ka, a lava monster. Moana sails on her boat while Maui, in his
sea hawk form, strikes the monster with his fishhook, which lights up and makes a loud,
booming noise.

Room 8 - Return the Heart, Te Fiti

Moana gives the heart to Te Ka and sings Know Who You Are. The lava monster
becomes the goddess, Te Fiti, who brings life to her island. Grass, trees, and flowers
grow while Te Fiti is Restored plays.

Room 9 - Goodbye, Return Home

Moana and Maui hug goodbye, and Moana sails back to her island.

Room 10 - Voyagers
Moana, her parents, the people of Motunui, and their ancestors voyage in search of new
islands while We Know The Way (Reprise) plays.

Exit
Riders walk through a tunnel that makes it look like they are inside the ocean or
underwater with sea creatures swimming around them. Innocent Warrior plays.
