WHAT IS LANGUAGE ARTS
Art is a way of communicating an idea, whether it is done through
music, paint, sculpture, or dance. The goal of art is to communicate
an idea.
Now add the word language to that concept. The goal of language
arts is to be able to use a language proficiently in order to
communicate an idea.
- Charlotte Manson

OF FREEZE FRAMES AND THOUGHT TRACKING
FREEZE FRAMES
Still images or silent tableaux used to illustrate a specific incident or event. It is a
well known drama technique for showing a moment in the middle of the action and
for showing an abstract concept in concrete way.

THOUGHT TRACKING
A strategy in which a teacher circulates, tapping students on the shoulder to
prompt them to focus on their inner thoughts and feelings.
Thought tracking helps students in role to tap into thoughts and emotions that lie
beneath the surface, enabling them to deepen their response and/ or contrast outer
appearance with inner experience.
