Journal body

In my second week of my teaching practice at GEMS Westminster The school,

I started to teach a full science lesson. From my experience as science student

teacher, I found that science subject is such a useful and enjoyable subject

for learners. In my perspective, the teacher has the control the convert

boring concepts to the appealing and fun lesson.

From my observation, I noticed that science subject involves the superior and

necessary knowledge that could we linked to others subjects such as

Geography, Mathematics, and English. I observed that the students enjoyed

exploring nature and whatever happens in our everyday life. Besides that,

science subject contributes to making students aware of own sense organs,

living and non-living things, energy, electricity and so on (Diana, 2008). For

instance, there is a lesson which teaches children and the stages of rocks

formation. Speaking for myself, its such an amazing feeling to see your

students faces when he discovers something new that he was wording about it.

Regarding the suitable teaching strategies for science topics, the

brainstorming or mind map is the most appropriate strategy for the lesson how

includes steps or stage for something life cycle such as rock can frog (Gil,

2013). The figure below that rock cycle that I used to give students. I
recognized that was much easier for them to summarize the lesson into

distinct sections as a mind map. Besides, I saw that they get the main idea of

the lesson quicker and they were so active with me.
