These are just some statistics which show that a lot needs to be done to ensure that Every Last Child in India gets quality education. This is because even
today, millions of children in India are being denied a chance at an enabling education and therefore a happy childhood. This happens mainly because of who
they are and where they are born. Save the Children works to bring this injustice to an end.

How will a donation of INR 500 a month from you help?

Save the Children works on the ground, from the most rural and tribal areas of India to the urban slums of metros to help children gain access to quality
education. These are places where the needs of spreading education among children and establishing awareness about its importance are dire. It is in the
most backward areas and among the most marginalised communities where we work to bring about a lasting and sustainable change.

The amount donated by you translates into getting one more child into the world of education. Your support equips Save the Children to roll out on-ground
projects that not only get more children enrolled into schools, but also ensure they remain there and get holistic and quality education.

Our initiatives include:

Setting up learning centers where working, street and slum children get education assistance and those who have got no exposure to education are
initiated to it.
Mapping out-of- school children and conducting enrolment drives with a special focus on girl children.
Deploying resources at Government schools and Aanganwadi Centers in different parts of India in the form of teachers, teacher training courses,
Teaching-Learning Materials (TLMs), libraries, computer labs, etc.
Working with and involving community members to get their children into schools, whether it is villages or slum areas or other identified areas in various
locations in different parts of India.

Save the Children's team of Cluster Coordinators in Bhatinda (Punjab) comprises 75 development activists. This is one of our the many programmes run by Save
the Children across India. We have reached 120+ villages of Bhatinda by working closely with the community, strengtheningChild Protection Committees, raising
awareness, conducting drives and liaising with Government authorities and bodies.

Since the inception of the program in 2014 this hardworking, fearless and exceptional group of people has freed 7000 children from formal child labour, 11000
other children from working in their own families, linked 32000+ children in CSSP (Child Sensitive Social Protection Schemes of the Local and Central
Government) programme with benefits such as scholarship and grants to economically weaker children. The team has also conducted anti-child marriage
signature campaigns and has got birth certificates for 2000+ children (a key ID that parents in rural communities struggle with and which are very important for
enrolment of children into schools) and has enrolled back almost 1000 children in schools. They maintain a record of children in every village they work in,
whether it is educational records and progress, child attendance in schools, children susceptible to or freed from child abusechild marriages, and details of
orphaned children. We thank and laud our team in Bhatinda for bringing this change
