PROCEDURE

Introduction- (10 min)

Students will sit in rows after getting changed and will do attendance.
After attendance is done I will have students grab a birdie and a racket and they can warmup by rallying with
a partner. I may have a competition where students have to compete against each other by using their hands to
throw birdies onto the other side of the court. I will give a certain amount of time and then students will count
how many birdies are on their side.
I will be circulating and giving positive feedback and encouraging students.

After the warmup, I will yell freeze and have students return transition to the middle court for further
instructions. If students are slow meeting in the middle I will just count down from 5 so they know to meet up
in the center quickly. Ask students to put rackets on the ground

Body (35 min)

I will review the rules and lines when it comes to serving and playing doubles games.
Ask students questions about lines, serving rules, and how to keep score.
Perform a demo game so students understand and get a visual of how things work.
After this explain the different stations for them to practice their serving, rallying, and
gameplay.
The first two courts will be for serving where they can practice backhand and forehand
serve and aim for different targets diagonal across the court.
The back two courts will be for rallying where students can try and keep up the birdie
as many times as they can with their partner. The other two courts will be for doubles
gameplay where students will play games and practice while learning the rules and
proper lines during gameplay.
Students will be at each station for 5 minutes and then I will rotate them. This gives
them a chance to spend time on different aspects of the game and keep reminding
them of rules and proper lines for doubles games.
When there is 5 minutes left, stop gameplay again by using freeze cue and ask
students to shake their opponents hands their partner to thank them for the game and
have one partner return the rackets while the other returns the birdie to the bins and
meet back in the middle for closure.
Conclusion (5 min)

Ask the students to review some of the rules they were practicing and remind them
these things will be on their assignment next week.
Thank students for their effort today and tell them next class we will be doing ping
pong.
Let students go and get changed
Assessment
Observe students to see if they are participating, putting in effort, and cooperating well
with others.
Have students give feedback out of 5 on how they feel they did today
Students will practice serving, rally play, and gameplay.
