Reflection
Picking the career I wanted to write a resume for was easy. I've wanted to be a big
screen actor ever since I was in elementary school. So naturally I wanted to get
experience for writing a resume as an actor if I'm to become one in my future. The
process was actually really fun to research what kind of attributes directors look for, how
The person I contacted was a very nice and enthusiastic lady named Leslie
Scatchard. Shes a homeschool teacher as a main job but she use to run a small theater
program for kids here in Petaluma. She was very nice and happy to answer questions I
had. She offered some very good advice when auditioning and told me how to behave

for the director to get on their good side(she told me this from her experience from
directing kids). It was a Great experience to hear what Ms. Scatchard had to say;
however, she did say that when she tried to go big she hated the environment, claiming it
was toxic when all people in the business care about is money, so hopefully I won't feel
One of my favorite parts about my research was looking for movie auditions
online. When trying to find movie roles for my future self to have played, I came across
some really good websites that allow you to find a wide variety of films looking for roles.
From small student films, to big union feature length movies, this website had it all. It is
truly amazing to realize how many small films go on you never hear about, it seems like
there's some sort of filming for a movie, whether it be for a theater or the internet. Now
that I've found these sights I might start looking for movie auditions near here; it's never
One thing about trying to become an actor, that can be useful to many, is that
anyone can do it, and going to college for it is not a requirement. Although it is
recommended, going to college is just a bonus in your own career. Directors and casters
will be just as eager to hire a high school graduate as a college graduate, if the person
looks the part, and can act. The bonus of going to college is that it will help you become
a better actor and give you more experience. After you take classes on improv, after you
learn how to recite a monologue with true feelings, and after you figure out all of the
slang directors use, you will be a better actor than you were before you took the college
This project gave me a slight glimpse into the future. It let me live through a
sliver of what I might have to do to become a big screen, or even the small screen(Im
not to picky), actor. Now that I have this small idea of what to do I'm going to start
looking for openings for me to jump behind a camera and start acting. Because if there's
one thing I've learned from this is that it's going to take a lot of experience and luck to get
