Quality Control efforts with MenerapkanTQM and PDCA

To achieve High Quality Products

TQM (Total Quality Management) refers to the emphasis on quality
includes the entire organization, from suppliers to customers. TMQ emphasize
management to get a referral company that constantly wants to achieve
excellence in all aspects of the product and jasa.Sebagai a concept in
mememlihara and develop quality. While PDCA cycle is a picture in the quality
control, where the four words are mutually dependent and related to each other.
Between TQM and PDCA have a relationship in which to understand the PDCA
then a company will know how to apply 14 points in TQM.

I. Introduction
Along with the development of science and technology, consumers are
becoming a major concern for entrepreneurs / owners perusahaan.Saingan or
competitors also have sprung up, giving rise to fierce competition between the
companies. This is evidenced by the proliferation of products with functions and
forms almost the same. Quality being the main thing that is a benchmark for the
success of a company, which by prioritizing the quality of a company trying to
provide products berkualiatas at an affordable price. Two ways is exactly what is
expected to be able to attract new customers and expect to create your loyal
customers / loyal to the end.
The quality itself has diverse meanings, and Amtrong Kotler (2010: 27)
states that the quality of the product is the product's ability to carry out its
functions, including reliability, durability, accuracy, ease opersai, and
improvement of products, as well as other valuable attributes. From this, we know
that quality is very important for the company, resulting in the implementation

II. Literature review
Willian Edward Deming was born on October 14, known as the Father
Pengedali 1900.Beliau Quality by launching several theories regarding quality
control. The famous one is 14 points in mangaemen often called TQM (Total
Quality Management) and PDCA. Deming explained that someone does not
need to be a person of superior money management science. Because all 14

1. Make a goal towards improving products and services with the aim to
become competitive and stay in business and to provide jobs

a major inspection by building quality into the product in the first place.
4. End the practice of awarding business on the basis of price. Instead,
minimize total cost of moving towards a single supplier for any one item, on a
long-term relationship of loyalty and trust.
5. Improve constantly and forever the system of production and service, to
improve quality and productivity, and thus constantly decrease costs.
6. Institute training on the job.
7. Institute leadership. Interest supervision should be to help people and
machines and gadgets to do a better job. Management oversight in need of
repair, as well as supervision of production workers.
8. Eliminate fear, so that everyone may work effectively for the company.
9. Breaking down barriers between departments. People in research, design,
sales, and production must work as a team, to foresee problems of
production and use that may be encountered with the product or service.
10. Eliminate slogans, urging, and targets for the work force asking without
defects and new levels of productivity. Advice as it only creates a hostile
relationship, as most of the causes of low quality and low productivity belong
to the system and thus are beyond the power of labor.
11. Eliminate work standards (quotas) on the factory floor, eliminate
management by objectives, eliminate management by objectives numerical
figures, substitute leadership, leadership replacement.

The methodology used to compile this journal is the study of literature
literature.Studi a non-research method that aims to provide the theoretical basis
and supporting information from references, journals, thesis and literature
buku.Studi done by reviewing some reference to examine and strengthen the
existing problems .This is done so that the author has a wide angle.

Results and Discussion

In the journal Pandu Soetjitro which discusses why TMQ used as a
means of quality control, it is explained that the TQM (Total Quality Management)
refers to the emphasis on quality includes the entire organization, from suppliers
to customers. TMQ emphasize management to get a referral company that
constantly wants to achieve excellence in all aspects of the product and

reduce costs by separating the jobs are not perlu.TQM also offer tools and
techniques bebrapa -engineering of operating principles and related consumer-
focused approach to performance assessment in the marketing literature.

sustainable business. These tools commonly known as the 7 tools.Berikut are
instruments that are used to support TQM:
Check Sheet: a sheet of checks that are designed to record data
Scatter diagram: shows hubugna between the two calculations
causal diagram: identify quality problems and point inspection
Pareto diagram: is meted out to manage errors
Diagrams process: designed to understand the sequence of events
through which a product
Histogram: shows the value of a calculation of coverage and frequency of
each value occurs
Statistisstical Process Control: diagram to map the value of a statistical
primarily to time on the horizontal axis.

Before using these tools, a company must understand the PDCA (Plan, Do,
Check, and Act). Where explained that the PDCA cycle is a picture in the quality

By planning (Plan), a company can determine the target or targets to be achieved
so that the problem can be terpecahkan.Setelah planning the next stage is to do
(implement), the intention is to do all that has been planned in the first phase.
This was followed by the stage of the check and act. In this process again held
evaluation of the plans that have been implemented, and then take action if
something goes wrong in the process kualitias control. By understanding PDCA
then the company can know what the TQM tools that will be used to perform
quality control efforts.

In the discussion above, it can disimpulakna that theory Dr. Edward
Deming about 14 points in the management of which is better known by TQM
and Deming PDCA system memilki a relation to one another in the support /

improve and develop the quality of a product. By using TQC company not only
improve the product, but also can improve the system working in the company
with the employees as the main saasaran improvement.
