Introduction
1.1 Background of the Report:
Internship Program of Jagannath University, Bangladesh is a post-graduation requirement for the
MBA students. This report is a partial requirement of the Internship program. Assigned by the
institutional supervisor, this report is prepared for internship and people & organization
department of Omicon Group, based on the project assigned by Leadership & People
Development Department, People & Organization Division of Omicon Group.
New venture and the group who consider starting this business and others related business can
use this report for knowing, what are the key issues in investment and capital market, application
of strategy and what will be important issues to survive in the Publications industry.
The competitor of the publications company can use this report to gain experience and know
how to change strategy gradually. Research and consultant firm can use to know, the present
situation of Publications Company.
1.4 Objective of the Report
There had been some objectives set forward in doing this report so that it can be determined what
tasks to perform in the department. These objectives are described in the following:
Board Objectives:
The objective of the report is to analyze the Analysis of Employee Training and Development
of Omicon Group comparing to industry maximum and peer group.
Specific Objectives:
To review the techniques used by the Omicon Group in employee training and
Development program.
To identify the new rising problems in employee training and Development
program.
To have exposure to the functions of Human Resource department (HRM).
To acquire in depth knowledge about Omicon Group Human Resource
department.
Organizational Objectives:
Organizational objectives assist the organization with its primary objective by bringing
individual effectiveness.
Functional Objectives:
Functional objectives are maintaining the departments contribution at a level suitable to the
organizations needs.
Social Objectives:
Social objectives ensure that the organization is ethically and socially responsible to the needs
and challenges of the society. Further, the additional objectives are as follows:
To prepare the employees both new and old to meet the present as well as
the changing requirements of the job and the organization.
To prevent obsolescence
To impart the basic knowledge and skill in the new entrants that they need
for an intelligent performance of a definite job.
To prepare the employees for higher level tasks.
The methodology of the study will require data at first. The sample size is chosen in order to
understand what most of the employee think about training program. When adequate data 18
were collected, it was sorted and displayed as percentage and is depicted in graphs. The sample
is chosen from Publications Companies.
To prepare the report, research design and methods of this study is describe as follows:

Primary Data is collected though questionnaire survey which is arranged on training programs of
Omicon Group and direct interview is done with corporate employees of Omicon Group

Majority of the data is collected from Annual Report, informal discussions mainly with my
supervisor and team members, published articles on journals, brochures, Omicon Group web
sites.
