Our Original Design

1. Gods Masterpiece

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand,
that we should walk in them. Eph 2:10

And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having
determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, Act 17:26

O LORD, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you
discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with
all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O LORD, you know it altogether. You hem
me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me. For you formed my inward parts; you knitted
me together in my mother's womb. Psalm 139:1-5,13

You have been created with a great purpose.

Our personalities and abilities have been uniquely developed by God.
Even before we were born, God had a plan for our lives
He loves us with an intimacy that we need revelation to grasp

2. Scriptural Examples

Abraham
The LORD said, "Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do, seeing that Abraham shall surely
become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? Gen
18:17-19

Samson
And the angel of the LORD appeared to the woman and said to her, "Behold, you are barren and have
not borne children, but you shall conceive and bear a son. Therefore be careful and drink no wine or
strong drink, and eat nothing unclean, for behold, you shall conceive and bear a son. No razor shall
come upon his head, for the child shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb, and he shall begin to
save Israel from the hand of the Philistines." Judges 13:3-5

Paul
But when he who had set me apart before I was born, and who called me by his grace, was pleased
to reveal his Son to me, in order that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately
consult with anyone; Gal 1: 15-16

3. A Strategic Purpose

Gods design for each believer is not common or one size fits all.
There is no one like you on the face of the earth.
God is to receive glory in all of this because He made you.
Everyone in the kingdom of God is strategically designed and moulded by Him for Him.

who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to
His own purpose and grace which was given us in Christ Jesus before the eternal times. 2Ti 1:9

4. Intimacy = Exploits

And he will ruin by flattery those who do evil against the covenant. But the people who know
their God will be strong and will work. Dan 11:32

Often we are busy trying to please God all the while missing out on the important detail knowing
Him.

God is not looking for a man or a woman who will work harder; He is looking for people who will
believe in Him, who will share His burdens, one who will love Him.

And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, "Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is
one Lord; and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all
your mind, and with all your strength." This is the first commandment. Mark 12:29 -30

5. How do you know your design?

The Bible
Your thoughts and focus in seeking to know your design should first and foremost be built on
scriptural truth. (2. Tim 3:16)

See the believers birthright for some scriptural truth

Seek the Lord Yourself

But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and with no reproach,
and it shall be given to him. Jas 1:5

Ask the Lord in your private times with Him, how He has made you and how He sees you.

Seek the Lord in the Church

This charge I commit to you, my son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before about
you, in order that you might war a good warfare by them, 1Ti 1:18

We should eagerly desire the spiritual gifts in the church and not despise prophecy. Paul encourages
Timothy to stir himself up with the prophecies that have been made over him.

6. Recovering your design

And the Angel of Jehovah came and sat under an oak which was in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash
the Abiezrite. And his son Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites.
And the Angel of Jehovah appeared to him, and said to him, Jehovah is with you, mighty warrior.
And Gideon said to Him, O, my Lord, if Jehovah is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And
where are all His miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not Jehovah bring us up from
Egypt? But now Jehovah has forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites. And
Jehovah looked upon him and said, Go in your might, and you shall save Israel from the hand of the
Midianites. Have I not sent you? And he said to him, O, my Lord, with what shall I save Israel?
Behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house. And Jehovah said
to him, Surely, I will be with you, and you shall strike the Midianites as one man. Jdg 6:11 -16

If you are anything like Gideon you might have a hard time accepting what God says about you. You
might think, surely not me Lord?!, and we need to rise up and listen to what the Lord is saying. We
need to remove strongholds in our lives that would hold us back from who He has made us to be.
