introduce the SRS activity: In the days prior to this activity, the students will have learned about the

students play the Kahoot game first thing when class starts. I will introduce the SRS activity by explaining
that it is a fun way to review for the test they will be taking.

Type of session: Teacher-Paced Student-Paced

Identification of students:
Students will log-in so their individual scores will be available to you after the session
SRS activity will be anonymous
Briefly describe what will happen during the SRS activity:
The students will have learned about the branches of government in the days prior to the SRS activity.
They will have watched videos, looked at PowerPoints, done activities, and had class discussions on the
topic. They will be ready for a summative assessment of the content. Beforehand, they will play the Kahoot
game as a fun, competitive way to study for the test and touch up on the information they already learned.
In order to play the Kahoot game, the teacher will be at the front of the classroom controlling the
projection screen or interactive whiteboard. Each student will have a laptop, tablet, or other wireless device
at their desk. They will go to the given link and enter the code to play. Each student will choose their own
username. When the students are ready, the teacher can start the game. The questions will appear on the
screen in the front of the classroom. The students choose an answer on their device. The students will
receive points based on if they chose the right answer and how quick they chose it. They will be able to see
their ranking and point value after each question. The students usually get very excited about the game and
want to gain the most points, so they really focus on selecting the correct answer. This activity should take

Immediate corrective feedback:
Will you pre-select correct answers to some or all of the questions and display correct response to the class
after the SRS activity? Yes No
Why or why not? I will not share the correct responses after the SRS activity because the correct answer is
shown throughout the game after each question. If the students have questions about the answers, they can
ask them after the game, before they take the test, to insure they understand the information.
Use of data: What data will be collected as a result of this activity? How will it be used and by whom?
The students will be able to monitor their own progress throughout the game by comparing their point value
to the other students and by seeing if their answer was correct or incorrect. The data will not be used to
award a grade. I will discuss the anonymous data with the whole class afterwards to let the students know if
theyre on track for the test.
Describe what will occur after the SRS activity: The students will take a summative test on the content

Describe your personal learning goal for this activity: With this activity, I am trying to incorporate a fun
way to study, in hopes that it will help the students make better grades on their summative test assignment.
Because I am letting them play a review game, I hope to see good test grades.
