It is my great pleasure to write this letter of recommendation on behalf of Brooke Elizabeth Packard.
I understand she is applying for a Teaching Assistant position for the upcoming Freshman at
Nichols College. Brooke was a student in my English Language Learner/RETELL course at Nichols
College where she was a very interested student, the first one to class and a student with a very
positive attitude throughout the course.

Brooke loved to participate in all class discussions and activities. She was always very supportive
and interested in others and always listened intently to lecture and to the contributions of her
classmates. Brooke is well liked and she is very bright, she is always down to earth and shows
genuine interest in and concern for her peers.

Brooke was required to participate in twenty observation hours for ELL students as a requirement
for my class. We organized her time to be spent at Dudley Middle School where I am an 8 th grade
History teacher and the ELL Liaison. Brooke came to Dudley Middle dressed professionally,
appropriately and ready to roll! I am a no-nonsense educator and I placed Brooke right into the
trenches with our very boisterous ELL students and she jumped right onboard with them! The
students loved her charm, support and genuine care that she showered on them. When her
observation hours, which were more like hands on hours with the amount of support she gave
those students, they didnt want her to leave!

Brooke is very sports minded, a valuable player and an active member of the girls basketball team
at Nichols College. I have a Community Service Learning Project that I have been facilitating for the
past 15 years. When Brooke learned of my project with YOU, Inc. of Worcester, Adopt-A-Child-for-
Christmas she took responsibility for providing for a child in need. I also had approximately 1000
gifts I needed wrapped, not only did she volunteer her services to come to Dudley Middle School but
she got her entire team on board and 20+ Nichols College students came to wrap!

Brooke has this incredible love of learning and she wants to soak up everything she can in the
classroom and from lifes lessons. She is like a breath of fresh air, she is enthusiastic, has a natural
passion for children to strive to do their best and to provide positive reinforcement and support for
younger students.

I have been nothing but impressed by Brookes academic commitment, diligence and cheerful
attitude. She will undoubtedly be a positive role model for incoming freshman to Nichols College.
