SONG: ALLELUIAStake Choir and Orchestra

Reader 1---- Alleluia, or in other words, Praise ye the Lord. For unto us a child is born, unto
us a Son is given, and his name is called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God,
The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Reader 2---- Jesus the Christ---long before Calvary and the crown of thorns, Jesus
demonstrated His love for us by volunteering to come to earth as the Savior of
the human family.

Reader 1---- For God knew that we, His Children, while in mortality, would at times choose
evil over good. He therefore set forth a plan to save us from the consequences
of sin and reclaim us from our fallen state.

Reader 2---- This plan of necessity called for a Redeemer---a sinless sacrifice for broken law.
Our Savior chose to be that sacrifice. He was one with the Father; He was
greater than us all.

SONG: GREATER THAN US ALL Soloist: Caroline Busselberg, Violin duet: Kevin Chan & Reva Paget

Reader 2---- For thousands of years, the people of God waited with hopeful anticipation for
the coming of the Messiah, until at last the time was at hand. God sent His angel
to Mary announcing her appointment to the mother of her Lord. And soon,
overshadowed by the power of the Holy Ghost, she conceived.

Reader 1---- The angel then appeared to Joseph, saying, ...she shall bring forth a son, and
thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Reader 2---- What responsibility was theirs! Mary and Joseph, chosen under heaven to guide
the holy Child from infancy to manhood. What must have been their awe! For
this Child would be different from every other; this Child would be the Son of
God; the Savior of the world.

SONG: MORE THAN JUST A BOY- Duet: Micah & Heidi Blake, Flute duet, Stake Choir

Reader 1---- And the Child grew and waxed strong in Spirit, increasing in wisdom and stature,
and in favor with God and man. The Spirit was His teacher, preparing Him to
preach the gospel to the poor and deliverance to the captives, to heal the
brokenhearted, recover sight to the blind, and set at liberty them that were
Reader 2---- When the time for His ministry came, He went forth with unconditional love. His
word unreserved, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to

Reader 1---- At times, His energy was spent from succoring the multitudes that clung to Him.
But still they came and still He suffered them. He had compassion upon them all.

SONG: HIS HANDS Womens Trio: Kate Reeves, Tami Mix and Holly Goode, Stake Choir & Orchestra
SONG: HOW GREAT THOU ART- Violin solo: Kevin Chan

Reader 2---- What love is this, that made Him so---that He would suffer in our stead
To turn and take another blow, and one step closer to His death
And full aware that death would come, for death must come to match the debt
He still would walk that road for us til paid in full, and nothing less!
His lifeless body carried they from mighty cross to silent tomb
And with the setting sun there came a darker night, a deeper gloom
That night and one more came and went while friends now hid themselves away
And wept and wondered what it meant, would dying thwart His plan to save?
And all He spake of peace and life, would He now forfeit to the grave?
No, no, an empty tomb replied, no God lies here,He rose today!

SONG: NEVER A BETTER HERO- Soloist: Melanie Livesay, Stake Choir and Orchestra
SONG: I COME TO HIM- Womens Duet: Alicia Nielsen and Katriel Velasco, Violin: Jacob Kauffman

Reader 1---- The Savior gave His life for each one of us. He knows our joys and our sorrows.
Ultimately, His is the name by which we want to be called. For there shall be no
other name given nor any other way nor means whereby salvation can come
unto the children of men, only in and through the name of Christ, the Lord

Reader 2---- And under this head ye are made free, and there is no other head whereby ye
can be made free. There is no other name given whereby salvation cometh;
therefore, take upon you the name of Christ, all ye that have entered into the
covenant with God, that ye should be obedient unto the end of your lives.

SONG: NO OTHER NAME- Soloist and choir: Chris Reeder

SONG: ILL BELIEVE IN HIM Duet: Beth Coon and Steven Grundberg
Reader 1---- Elder Jeffery R. Holland said "the Saviors Atonement lifts from us not only the
burden of our sins but also the burden of our disappointments and sorrows, our
heartaches and our despair. There can and will be plenty of difficulties in life.
Nevertheless, the soul that comes unto Christ, who knows His voice and strives
to do as He did, finds a strength beyond His own.

Reader 2---- The Savior reminds us that He has graven [us] upon the palms of [His] hands.
Considering the incomprehensible cost of the Crucifixion and Atonement, He is
not going to turn His back on us now. When He says to the poor in spirit, Come
unto me, He means He knows the way out and He knows the way up. He knows
it because He has walked it. He knows the way because He is the way.

Reader 1---- Because Jesus lives, we are blessed to have his power and guidance in our own
lives. Through his spirit, given to each of us freely, and through living prophets
who speak in his name, he leads and directs us as we strive to fulfill our purpose
on this earth. And in accordance with his Father's great plan, in a time not far
distant, he will return to us in glory, to reign upon the earth as our king. In that
day, "God shall wipe away all tears from [our] eyes; and there shall be no more
death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain...",
"nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall [we] learn war

Reader 2---- We look forward to that glad reunion with our Savior. Then, as we fully
comprehend the magnitude of his work for us, our hearts will swell with
gratitude, and every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is
Lord and all his ways are perfect. Until that joyful day, let us press forward in
hope, upheld by our faith in him. He is our Lord and Master, our Redeemer and
our Savior, the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him. In him
we live! What debt of love and faith we owe to Christ who is our King.
