Summary: In this Chapter, there are two main topics provided and they are

1. Integrity in Curriculum Development

2. Curriculum Models.

In Integrity in Curriculum Development there are two main points provided.

reflection of entry point chapter 5 2

1.1 The curriculum is not neutral (Curriculum is not meant to be neutral but to develop as

time passes by so that it will be effective for the growth in integrity and the students mindset of

learning.)

1.2 Foundations are important (The underlying beliefs and values on which a curriculum

is based will determine the outcomes of the curriculum.)

In Curriculum Models the authors verified four points.

2.1 The nature and character of God as a force of learning (We are created to know God

more. This is the basic for us to study about Gods character through His creations.)

2.2 The Christian world view as expressed in the Creation-Fall-Redemption and

Consummation as a focus for the curriculum (This will help the students to learn deeper about

God and know that they are redemptive images of God.

2.3 The Creation Order as a focus for curriculum development (This can go well with the

Creation-Fall-Redemption and Consummation because this will draw them to more detailed

knowledge of what went wrong and what they are now because of Christ.)

2.4 Knowledge of God as a central focus for learning (The authors provided us Isa 33:6

and Col 1:17 to help us see that the knowledge of God is foundational/relevant/diverse/moral.)

Reflection: Personally, I am very weak at providing Biblical perspective on my lesson-plan.

However, after reading this, I have learned how important is my weakness to be used for the

glory of God in my classroom to my students. There are no subjects that cannot be connected to

God. And as redemptive teachers for our classrooms, we are to find the connections so our

students can see Gods hand in every subject they learn.
