the idea. Thus, those make the students bored and lazy to study of writing. To
cope them, the writer focuses on implementation of describe and draw game to
improve the students` ability of writing descriptive texts: a case of the eighth
grade students of SMPN 01 Bangsri in academic year 2016/2017
The main purposes of the research are 1.) to find out the writing ability of
eight grade students of Junior High School who are taught using Describe and
Draw Game. 2.) to find out writing ability of eight grade students of Junior High
School who are taught using Bouncing Story Game. 3.) to find out whether or not
there is a significant difference of writing ability between the students taught
using Describe and Draw Game and those taught using Bouncing Story Game.
This study is true experimental research. The population of the research is the
eighth students of SMPN 01 Bangsri. The writer used two classes for the sample.
They were experimental class and control class. The instrument of the research is
test; the type is essay test.
Based on the discussion, the result of the mean experimental class was 78 that
was higher than the mean of control class was 65, 30. The t-test score is found
3,58 and t-table 1,668. Therefore, t-test > t-table (3, 58 > 1,668), there was
significant difference of the students ability in writing Descriptive text between
students who taught using Describe and Draw Game and taught using Bouncing
Story Game. It means that Describe and Draw Game better than Bouncing Story
Game.
The writer suggest that Describe and Draw Game should be used the teacher
because it can help the teacher deliver the materials easily and keep the students
interested.
