Yesterday I was
feeling kind of
blah and
uninspired. I
think Im going
through a winter,
extended winter,
funk. We just
cant seem to stop
snowing here in
northern
Minnesota and
its April! Any
how last night I
needed
something sweet
(and not of the
food variety as I
swear I have
eaten my way
through this entire season to ease the pains of cabin fever.) I needed something
wee and pretty and something that made me feel warm n fuzzy on the inside.....
and here it is. I call it Sugar N Spice cuz after all that and everything nice is
exactly what lil girls are made of.
Hope you enjoy giving this pattern a try as much as I enjoyed coming up with it.
Its very easy, I would even say beginners could do this. Have fun <3 I have done

Beautiful dress, thank you so much! I did have a question about rows 1 and 2,
though. You have the beginning chain (3 and 2 respectively), then say HDC in the
next stitch, followed by 5 more. That gives me 6 HDCs plus the turning chain
which leaves me one short on the very last set of six at the end of the row. Should
the rst HDC be in the same stitch as the turning chain (making the turning chain
not count as a stitch) or does the turning chain count as one and there should
only be 5 HDCs? I assume you are aiming for 6 stitches on each end to keep it
even, although I may be wrong since I haven't worked past this rst part yet.

Row8 I need some clearing up. Do you ch5 tc in same stitch,* tc in next 3, tc ch2
tc in next stitch * repeat from * to * or tc ch2 tc in next stitch all around???
Reply
On row 9 it skips the rst 4 or 5 sts at the begining and says to do tc, ch2 , tc in
ch2 space. Is that suppose to be like that because it leaves a big hole in the back
of the dress? Thank you :)
Reply
Replies
I think the ch 5 is supposed to act as the rst tc and the rst ch2 space.
So, when you join at the end of the row you actually join in the 3rd or
4th chain instead of the 5th one, leaving a hole for the tc, ch2, tc
pattern to begin.

Also, when you gold over the pattern, have the fold away from you. The HDC 18

This is simply beautiful, my friend just had a new baby girl. I sure will try this.

Thank you for the pattern.

Can someone help me with Row 4? What does (HDC in the ch 1 space just sc into)
mean? I'm so confused and I have frogged this so many times already.
Reply
Replies
When it says to ch1 into both ch1 spaces to join it is actually a sc. Then,
you HDC into the sc you just created. If that makes any sense.

Thanks for the beautiful pattern! Do you have an estimate on the amount of
yardage required for THIS size? I'm heading to the LYS to nd some pretty cotton
to do it up in :)

I love this pattern, it's adorable! I started working on it this evening and I must be
missing something (or I am just daft), but the count keeps coming out wrong on
the rst row for me. When it says HDC ch1 HDC, I am doing a HDC, then chaining
1, then doing another HDC, after that I do 12 more HDC, and the one more HDC,
chain one, on more HDC and then 12? Am I understanding it correctly? It would
actually be 13 HDC on each side of the chain 1?
Thanks! :-)
Reply
At the end of row four it says to hdc in the next 8 are those across the back part of
the sleeve.it also says ch2 and turn an the it says it again so do you ch2 or 4. Also
on row 5 its hdc 30 (40st). Which sts are they? I'm counting wrong I didn't get 40
sts. I'd love to see a video tutorial.

I truly would love to make this for my 2 1/2 year old Grand Daughter. I am still
trying to learn how to read patterns and the video is a great help to me. Is there
any way you can give me number of stitches to use for a size 3 dress? I am not
able to measure her because they live 1000 miles away from me. Any suggestions
would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

I'm new to crocheting and love your design Thank you so much for oering this for
free! As a beginner I would nd it really helpful if you could put how many of each
stitch total was done in each round and if in cases of repeating stitches you put
them in brackets or use the *symbol. Either way you have found a new follower
for sure!
Now for the dilemma: I've made it up to Row 7 with few problems...but now I'm a
little stuck. In Row 7 I count repeating the (HDC in next 3 stitches, 2 HDC in next
stitch) 20 times(making the total HDC at the end of the row 101) however the
previous line Row 6 left me with 82HDC in total and after watching your video I
think you added an extra HDC at the end. This in total would leave me with a total
HDC in Row 7 of 102. So do I add an HDC to the end of Row 7? or are my numbers
all o?
