Spring Has Sprung Literacy


Remember to take time to play and enjoy the Stretching and blending sounds in words

A new set of sight words for Reading Street Unit Attached please find the following homework
5 will be sent home. Kindergarteners will be assignments. The homework assignments are
tested for mastery on all sight words from Units typically not collected in Kindergarten.

Science and Social Studies


This month we will be using our five senses as we
discuss the Spring season. On Earth Day, we will
talk about how to take care of our Earth so living
things can grow and be healthy. The children will
add to their vocabulary with words like pollution
and recycling. As a family, consider planting a
tree in honor of Arbor Day on April 24th.
In Social Studies, we will be learning about
different forms of transportation.

Please continue to read with your child every day.
Reading outside under the shade of a tree is a
great way to enjoy a book in the spring! Remember
to return the reading record when it is completed
so your child can be entered into a drawing to win a
free book at the end of the month! Have fun!
