Attendance, Class Meeting Times and Clothing:
Attendance will be required during drop/add for all enrolled students. For the entire
semester you will be allowed three (3) free absences without penalty. For each absence
over three, 10% per absence will be deducted from my evaluation of the practical aspect of
your performance (see Grading). If you accumulate more than (5) absences, you will receive
no credit for this course, and a U, F, WF, or W will be awarded as circumstances dictate.
There are NO excused absences. Unexcused absences include trips, doctor
appointments, interviews, conferences, illness, injury, official school business, jury duty, as
well as simply not showing up. You will be permitted one (1) official make-up day
during the semester to make up any absences for reasons listed above. A variety of out of
class make-up opportunities will be announced and posted on your Canvas site but only
make-ups posted by me will be allowed for credit. If you are unsure, confirm it with me.
Make-up days must be approved by me via e-mail. You are responsible for managing your
absences. If you are more than 10 minutes late or leave more than 10 minutes early, you
will be marked Tardy for the day. Two Tardies = One Absence.

Classes will begin promptly at 5 minutes after the scheduled starting time (9:05am) and will
be dismissed 10 minutes prior to its scheduled conclusion (9:50am). You are responsible for
monitoring the Canvas course site for changes in class location, announcements, quiz and
homework deadlines, due dates, etc. Students are responsible for finding out about location
changes if they are absent from class. I couldnt find the class is NOT an excused
absence.

Recommended clothing is anything that is appropriate, comfortable and easy to move in.
Appropriate cycling shoes are mandatory (running shoes ok). No jeans or OPEN-TOED shoes.

Grading:
60% of your final grade will be determined by your participation in and commitment
to your training program. This is the practical (activity) component of your overall
grade and includes attendance and my subjective evaluation of your work ethic and
focus.
30% of your final grade will come from your score on each of the two quizzes (15%
each).
10% of your final grade will be calculated from the successful & timely completion of
labs/homework assignments.

beginning of the semester to receive accommodations. Illnesses or injuries that occur
during the semester may warrant medical withdrawal.
