Syco Entertainment is a privately traded production company, founded in 2002 by

Simon Cowell and Sony Music Entertainment, with Syco Music, Syco Television and Syco

Film currently under its banner. Through partnerships, Syco produces a large number of

infamous television shows and music brands.

Syco Television produces and owns the BAFTA Award-winning show The X

Factor and the Got Talent television format, both created by Simon Cowell in 2004 and

2006 respectively. The X Factor is co-produced by Syco in 41 countries and the American

version was screened in 166 countries. Forbes Magazine announced that the American

version of The X Factor was the second second-highest revenue earning show, in terms of

advertising per half hour, in the United States in 2012. As of March 2013, Got Talent is the

most successful television format in the world with individual versions in 60 countries. Syco

Television also produces other shows in addition to its key brands, including Food Glorious

Food, entertainment specials, and The Xtra Factor, a spin off to The X Factor.

Under Syco Music, there are now 25 artists whose music genres range from pop, rap,

and R&B to opera and country, with most of their artists being former contestants on its TV

talent shows. Syco artists have sold more than 200 million albums and have reached more

than 180 No. 1 records worldwide. To expand the success of their artists, Syco Music has

created partnerships with the music record labels Epic, RCA, and Columbia. The Irish boy

band Westlife has been one of Sycos most successful acts, being named the second biggest-
selling artist and biggest-selling band of the decade with 14 UK number ones and 25 top ten

singles. They left Syco in March 2011, and have since disbanded. Currently, some of the acts

under Syco Music included BRIT Award winning, global phenomenon One Direction,

Grammy Nominee Susan Boyle, and teenage opera duo Jonathan and Charlotte.

In 2012, Syco Film was created in order for the company to make a transition from

music and television into movies. Sycos first ever film, released in August 2013, is the 3D

documentary movie One Direction: This Is Us, directed by Morgan Spurlock. Its second

film, One Chance, is a biopic of the first ever Britains Got Talent winner opera singer

Paul Potts, starring Tony Award winner James Corden. Sycos third film, set to be released in

2014, will be Pudsey: The Movie, another biopic.

In late 2012, Syco Entertainment announced that award-winning comedian Harry Hill

was working on writing the first ever Syco produced musical comedy I Can't Sing! The X

Factor Musical, based on the Syco Television brand The X Factor.

In March 2013, Syco Entertainment started producing digital content through a

partnership with YouTube, creating the first ever online only talent competition the You

Generation, which searches for talent in all areas. This project is the worlds first global

audition, opened to 26 countries, and is set to run for a whole year.

Syco Entertainment, a production company created by Simon Cowell and Sony
Music Entertainment, announced today that the biopic on opera singer Paul
Potts rise to fame is set to hit theaters in the UK on October 25, 2013.

The comedy film, produced by Syco Entertainment and Relevant Entertainment,

tells the story of Paul Potts, an outcast as a kid whose dream of becoming a
professional opera singer seems to get farther away as he grows up. With the
encouragement of his wife, Potts enters the talent competition "Britain's Got
Talent", which he ultimately wins, turning him into an international phenomenon.

Syco Entertainment was created when Simon Cowell and Sony Music
Entertainment partnered in 2002 with the desire to change the entertainment industry
for the better. In less than fifteen years, Syco Music and Syco Television have produced

unique styles on board. Our musical acts are just as varied. Solo artists and groups
from all ages are part of the Syco family, and their genres range pop, rap, and R&B to
opera and country. There is something for everyone!

Sycos success is the result of our staffs hard work. We are an establishment
filled with visionaries and pro-active staff members. Our two small offices, located in
London and Los Angeles, are able to blend together in order to bring new and fresh
ideas into our company. Our London staff has work hard to give Syco the incredible
success it has received throughout the UK and Europe, always creating ideas from
scratch. The LA office is known particularly for being responsible of Sycos success in
cracking America and developing our new Film division. We are also known to partner
with other professionals and companies that will bring great success to our musical
acts, movies, and TV shows like Columbia Records, TriStar Pictures, and Modest
Management.

Syco began as a small London based company, and now audiences from all
around the world are enjoying our productions. Our growth has been incredibly fast, and

One Direction
The One Direction boys
wrapped the Take Me Home Tour
2013! The world tour, which took
off at the O2 Arena in London this
February came to its conclusion last
Sunday, November 3rd in Tokyo, Ja-
pan. Our very own Olly Murs opened
for the boys last two shows in Tokyo.
After 131 shows Niall, Harry, Liam,
Louis, and Zayn are finally coming
home!
Last Sunday we also learned
that the boys newest single, Story
Of My Life, from their upcoming third
album Midnight Memories, reached
#4 on the Official Charts in the UK
during the first week of sales. The
single charted #1 last week in Ireland
and Belgium, #3 in Scotland, and #6
in the United States. That same day
the music video for the single was
released on Vevo.
Congratulations, not
only to the boys, but
also to John Ryan
and Julian Bunetta
for writing an incred-
ible song
with Jamie Scott
and One Direction
and producing the
chart-topping track!
The good
news did not stop
coming on Sunday.
BBC Radio 1s Teen
Awards took place,
and the boys won
Best British Group and Best British
Single for Best Song Ever, which
was also produced by Julian Bunetta.
The MTV Europe Music Awards will
be taking place this Sunday Novem-
ber 10th, and One Direction could be
receiving a few more awards. The
nominations are for Best Pop, Big-
gest Fans, and Harry is nominated
for Best Look!
In other award related news,
the nominees for the People Choice
Awards 2014 were revealed on Tues-
day, and the boys are nominated for
Favorite Band, Favorite Music Video
with Best Song Ever, and Favorite
Music Fan Following. The ceremony
will be taking place on January 8th.
Little Mix
This is very exciting week for
Leigh-Anne, Perrie, Jade, and Jesy!
Move, the first single from their sec-
ond album, Salute, was release in
the UK last Sunday, November 3rd.
The girls performed Move that night
on The X Factor UK, the talent com-
petition that they won in 2011. The
girls also appeared on the spin-off
The Xtra Factor preforming Little Me,
another new song from Salute, for
the first time.
The single, written by Little
Mix with Maegan Cottone and Na-
than Duvall, has been doing really
well in the mid-week charts. The sin-
gles position in the Irish Charts will
be revealed today, and on the UK
charts this Sunday November 10th.
Little Mixs second album Salute is
out today in Ireland and on Monday,
November the 11th in the UK.

Il Divo
On November 4th, the fourth
album of the operatic pop group Il
Divo was released. The album, ti-
tled A Musical Affair, contains the
songs the group are performing on
their new Broadways show Il Divo,
A Musical Affair: The Greatest Songs
of Broadway Live at the Marquis
Theatre in New York City. The show
started running yesterday, and will
only last a week, ending on Novem-
ber the13th.
Leona Lewis
One More Sleep, the lead
single for the Leona Lewis new
Christmas album was released on
Tuesday the 5th. Leona wrote the
track in collaboration with Richard
Biff Stannard, Iain James, Jez
Ashurst, and Bradford Ellis. The al-
bum Christmas, With Love is Leo-
nas first holiday album and will be
released on December the 2nd in the Fifth Harmony
UK and the following day in the Unit-
