EL PROPOSITO DE DIOS PARA TU FAMILIA

Gen 11:27-31; 12:1-9

No ms.

drogas eran comunes a mi familia.

1. Dios desea llevarnos a otra tierra.

GODS PURPOSE FOR YOUR FAMILY
Gen 11:27-31; 12:1-9

In the month of December, the stores are filled with promotions and sales as Christmas approaches. For most people,
Christmas is all about gifts, some gifts are more expensive than others; but everyone is happy for every gift they receive
regardless of the price. Nonetheless, God wants us to know that He has given us a far greater gift that weve never received.
This gift has the purpose and plan God has designed for his children.

Abrahams family was a family that needed to find purpose (Gen. 11: 27-31). Nowadays, many families get married under
the tradition of their culture but cannot find a meaning for their lives. The same thing happened to Abraham and Sara who
were from the Chaldeans culture. They both got married but Sara was barren. They were only one more number to be
counted in the census in those times. This reminds us that we are a part of our culture and tradition that will eventually
disappear in history. Theres nothing else to hope for.

Abraham had an encounter with God and he found purpose and destiny (Gen. 12:1). Even though the Bible does not
specifically state the moment in which God spoke with Abraham and Sara, it mentions they indeed had an encounter with
God. This encounter with God moved them to a different direction. Abraham would not only be another number in the
census but hed have a family with eternal purpose. This was the greatest miracle Abraham and Sara received from God: An
Eternal Purpose. This would completely change their destiny as a family! Today, Abraham and Sara are remembered as the
forefathers of the people of Israel; the nation where our Lord Jesus came from as the Messiah, our Savior.

My encounter with God changed the course of my life. The direction my family was living was full of ruin. My father was
murdered and my mother was unjustly imprisoned; even my brothers ended up in prison as well. Drugs were so common in
my family. When my father passed away, the devil had a banquet of destruction ready for usBUT SOMETHING
EXTRAORDINARY HAPPENED; I HAD AN ENCOUNTER WITH GOD. God changed my history, changed my familys history and
gave me his gift; the greatest gifts of all: a purpose for my life.

GETTING TO KNOW GODS PURPOSE FOR THE FAMILY

1. God wants to take us to a new land. God doesnt want us to be part of this society, even though we fulfill our obligations
here on earth. God wants us to live in the Kingdom of God! (Mt. 6:33). We come into his purpose the moment we accept
Christ as our Lord and Savior. Then, the Lord Jesus adds us to his church (Mt. 16:18); and its within his church that we fulfill
his eternal purposes until the day our Lord Jesus comes back for his church to live with him forever after (1 Ts. 4:13-18).

2. God wants us to become a greater nation. (Gen. 12:2) As I mentioned before, my family had practically disappeared and
only thing left, were the memories of what once was a beautiful family. Yet, this will not be the result for those who come to
Jesus, have an encounter with Him and receive his purpose. They will become a greater and united nation and their
generations will be blessed.

3. God wants us to be a blessed family that will bless others (Gen. 12:2-3). The prosperity of the world hurts and causes
greed, competition; but Gods prosperity brings justice, respect, a good name and service for all. This happened to Abraham
and the Bible describes how God was with him and with all his wealth (Gen. 14:18-20). Always remember that Gods
purposes not only have to do with our family but also with our prosperity here on earth and eternal life in heaven.

Would you like to change the history of your family? Then, just like Abraham, draw near to God and to his purposes.
Surrender everything to him: your house, your spouse, your children, and your future. Today you can start living in his
territory and under his promises and direction. If you do this, youll be a blessed family that lives under Gods purposes.
