3. Movie Literature Review

1. This is the first Bollywood film that I ever watch after finishing works hours during
internship. It was late night movie to watch starts at 12 am end to 3am, and it was
in the Indian community cinema located at Shah Alam at IRDKL Mall. The film is
basically about a heart of a father.
2. Normally a father is a dominant figure in the family. His always trying to choose
suggest and planning the careers for his children in future. Fathers always want
their children end up living happily in life according to vision and way of thought.
3. However they will come a time that a father must fight within himself to be looked
relevant by their son or daughter. Outside worlds, the will be many challenge come
for the children especially from peers or new people. Geeta makes friends at the
institute and begins to disregard the discipline she has been brought up with. She
regularly watches TV, eats street food, and grows her hair longer. Her coach's
training differs significantly from her father's techniques
4. A mother always in the dilemma between a husband desire and loves for her
children. Someday in future a growing children, will think that they are better,
cleverer and more successful than parent. At that moment they can choose to get
rid of the family or appreciated them.
5. A father can be look cruel in the eye of the children. His methods seem harsh,
including grueling early morning workouts and short haircuts to avoid lice. Initially,
the girls resent their father for his treatment but they soon realize that their father
wants them to have a future and not grow up to be stereotypical housewives. No
one knows how broken a father heart when seeing his children in a problem or
unfortunate incident. There is a scene Geeta crying when calling from NSA
(National Sports Academy). I was crying at the moment.
6. To be successful in life, there is a time we must do something abnormal, out of
place or even against the community practice. Ye we will be look weird in the eye
of the people If we failed, many are waiting to clapping their hand but when we are
successful everybody are claiming their also are helping us during the process.
7. There is not the end of ambition, if we dont succeed maybe our children will. But
they need to know why the ambition need to be accomplished. Mahavir Singh is
5
an amateur wrestler who was forced to give up wrestling in order to work as admin.
He was unable to win a gold medal for India and vows that his son will.
8. Children will not always forever in the protection of their parent. There will be a
time when they have to make their own decision. Make them a space and give
them the chance. Teach them how to be independent and freely making their own
decision. Geeta became the first Indian female wrestler to qualify for the Olympics
and Mahavir's efforts inspired dozens of Indian women to participate in wrestling.
I would like to recommend parent to watch this the message will get through you.
9. The first trailer for the film was released by Aamir himself on October 20th, 2016.
It reached over 4.5 million views on YouTube in less than 15 hours, which is very
surprising and unusual for an Indian film trailer

4. Cinematography

The shooting of Dangal is at the Akhada Leel near Toosa village, Amir Khan must look
muscular look for the younger avatar of his character. The film was shot in reverse with
the climax first where Aamir Khan plays and older character and the start was shot last
where he plays younger character.

The choreography is very real. A training camp was setup for wrestling lessons
specifically for the four girls. The training went for 6-7 months.

This film is about sport, cinematographer focus on every miniscule detail of wrestling. The
sequences are wonderfully shot and choreographed, so much so that it is difficult to
believe the actors aren't full-time wrestlers. And at the centre of it all is Aamir Khan.

The transition between the scenes is apparent only at the editing stage. It is only after we
see the film without sound in a DI suite that we get a sense of the flow of the film

5. Shooting Styles

As wrestling scene to give a realistic feel to the wrestlers and arena multiple cameras and
lenses are use.The constant change of angle created variations in the texture of the final
image. The process helped bring a consistency to the images

6. Lighting

The majority of the film was shot using natural light in order to make it look as raw and
real as possible. The color palette was derived from the story setting. Despite shooting in
the hot and humid weather, the cast and crew perfectly managed to start the shoot

The training sequence of the Phogat sisters began as early as 5 am in the morning and

at times much before sunrise, and shooting would sometimes continue till late evening,

resulting in changing color temperatures. By adjusting color temperatures between the

highlights and the shadows and seamlessly matching the varying quality of light

7. Soundtrack

Amitabh Bhattacharya's lyrics are great. The music is very terrific sync with our sport

mood of the drama. 'Dangal dangal' is a very inspiring song and will soon become popular.

Another song is 'Dhaakad' and 'Haanikarak' are also very well-tuned. The 'Gilehariyaan'

song has terrific magic spell of a different kind The song writer may pick up some awards

for his lyrics Pritam's background music deserves distinction mark
