My Reflection on observation on the workshop

After reading the field observation notes and extended notes of Ms.

Jennifer Yeowards observation of Stonewall Tiger meeting on March 17, 2017. I have noticed

some useful points that I will incorporate in my future observations. These are as under;

While conducting observation activity there need to take exhausted notes, I think that will

provide opportunity to see every angle of the site, participant and environment. Ms.

Yeowards notes were in detail and have good amount of the information about the location

and participants that I think I should keep in mind in my future observation activities.
The second point that I will incorporate while writing notes is the use of key for personal

assumptions. Ms. Yeoward did good job in highlight assumptions and personal reflection in

keys.
Taking notes of physical gestures and body language is also important that Ms. Yeoward

have noted and I will note either in the future.

The last point that I am still thinking about is how to get detailed notes without ignoring

specific purpose of the observation. I think that 20 minutes is not enough time for getting

detailed notes about the site, and participants and finding answers of research questions. For

conducting better observation, selection of time and site is important that help in collecting

quality of information.
