General Issues - Siebel
1. Server connectivity issues
Maximum number of Connection Exceed - Login to one of the server in corp
domain . Open tsadmin console . Connect to remote computer and reset idle
connections.
User doesn't have administrator Access - User has to provide the proof of ownership
from Kevin or Paco for us to add him to admin group. If anyone is already an
administrator ,user has to contact him for adding into administrator group.
Not able to login as domain user - Confirm server has the correct DNS settings
Not able to access server through mstsc - Access the virtual server console. Goto
Edit Configuration and reset the server.

2. Offshore Developer remote desktop connectivity


All the systems configured for TTA will no longer have Terminal Services access
The servers impacted are listed on the Appstta Global Portal under the tabs; Siebel,
Siebel China, and SDC Siebel Analytics. You can access the portal via the link below.

4. Licensing error while connecting to Terminal Server.


On the client, navigate to the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSLicensing
Click MSLicensing.
On the Edit menu, click Delete, and then click Yes to confirm the deletion of
the MSLicensing registry subkey.
Close Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.

1. Enable SSH in ESXi Boxes
Login to the Drac Console
Use Alt F1
type "unsupported"[though you will see just blackscreen] and
enter
enter the password
you will have prompt of cli interface
vi /etc/inetd.conf
remove hash[#] infront of ssh and sshd
reboot the base host or
ps -a | grep inetd
kill -hup [processid]
ssh will be enabled

2. ESXI CLI Commands
Register a vm
/vim-cmd solo/registervm /vmfs/volumes/rtdc78216qaemt/rtdc78216qaemt.vmx
Unregister a vm
/vim-cmd vmsvc/unregister 16->[processid]
Get the ProcessID to Power on VM, Power off, Reset
/vim-cmd vmsvc/getallvms
reboot the vm start,stop,reset

3. Host Missing from DRA
DRA at the moment is not showing hosts that were down and some machines which were
deployed outside dra using script vmSpreadsheetParser.pl and some more were also
missing because of migrations that happened on Siebel side to ESxi 4.0
We are finding the machines with the help of adm boxes /diskless/client/,
customized scripts from filers and trail and error as the last option, those things will be
covered in tomorrow's sdc virtualization session.
4.Service Packs
Very rarely on Siebel side we face these service pack issues, if some requirement is there
we normally download the service packs and then try to copy the binaries in
\\sdcdl380i001\software location.
5. Failed to Image
Users have a tool called Lab Manager to reimage servers on their own, upon failure only
they will raise service requests. We use Op-force or Dra or vmSpreadSheetParser.pl
script from adm box to reimage these boxes. Opforce shows last re-imaged snapshot the
machine was used. There are many images in Opforce but very few for virtual machine
certified many for different hardware we can identify by checking the description in
Opscripts.

6. Issue: Windows Activation


We have a Windows 2008 / Vista licensing server in SDC and you are welcome to
use.
open command window and run:
cscript \windows\system32\slmgr.vbs -skms sdcdl380i167.corp.siebel.com:1688

7. Issue: Tarantella
Disappear systems from tarantella is because of the reason user might be assigned
with the wrong profile and these issues will be fixed by benedict from idc or vic's
team they manage tarantella infrastructure.
