2017-2018 School-Parent Contract

West Wendover Jr. High School, and the parents of students that attend school, activities, and

programs agree to the terms and conditions that the contract outlines. School members, parents,

and students agree to work together with responsibility to fulfill this contract. This contract

allows the school, parents, and students to work together to reach high achievement in students

education.

Required School-Parent Contract Provisions

School Responsibilities:

The West Wendover Jr. High School will:

Provide a supportive and welcoming learning environment to students and their families

by maintaining a supportive staff and a positive learning environment.


Provide high quality curriculum by providing teachers with professional development on

how to provide comprehensive and meaningful lesson plans.


Provide weekly reports regarding individual students learning progress, assignments, and

test scores by sending letters home to parents every last school day of the week.
Hold parent-teacher conferences one time each semester to inform families on their

students growth, needs, and answer any questions regarding their students education.
Allow families to volunteer for school events, committees, programs, and spend time in

the classroom for specific lessons. Family members that want to volunteer will need to

fill out a volunteer form.


Give appropriate student accommodations to students that need special accommodations.

Students may need to be tested to check for special accommodations.


Provide a contact list of schools staff members to contact when needed and may schedule

appointments.
Develop programs to increase learning in the school for students that might need more

help.
Plan community and family events held at the school to engage families in students

education.

Parent Responsibilities:

We, as parents, will share the responsibility in supporting and working with our students in their

education in the following ways:

Ask our students about school so that we stay updated with what our students are learning

in school, how they feel about school, and how we can help in their education.
Making sure our students complete all homework in a timely manner so that they can stay

on track and be able to achieve all educational goals.


Volunteer for school activities, events, committees, and in my students classroom at least

three times a semester to stay involved in my students education.


Read and reply to any letters that get sent home with my student or by mail to give

personal feedback and to stay up to date.


Encourage my student to achieve in school, complete school, and think about higher

education by promoting school positively.


Providing my student with the proper tools to help them achieve in school. Helping them

read, do homework, and providing school equipment when needed.


Will participate in decision making that will affect school programs, and my students

learning.
Supporting my students school by being an active member in their education.

Student Responsibilities:

We, as students, will share the responsibility in our education, so that we can learn and achieve

the high States standards. We will do this by:


Paying attention, listening, and following what the teacher says to do, demonstrates, and

teaches.
Completing all assignments, task, and homework to learn from and apply our full

potential.
Asking questions if we are confused, or need extra help understanding concepts.
Keeping my family updated with notices, and surveys to complete and bring them back to

school if needed.
Applying myself in everything that I do, so that I can learn and achieve the high States

standards.
Working well with my teachers, other students, and family to keep a strong relationship

between them and my education.


Respecting and following school, and classroom rules.
