PGDAV College believes that the philosophy of college education is translated

into a mission of creating wholesome personality of human beings with a view
to produce better employees with modern attitude, practical wisdom,
knowledge and relevant skills, enabling them to move forward confidently.

We at PGDAV College, imbibe in our students the zeal to become competent

and dynamic entrepreneurs and professionals in todays rapidly changing
business environment.

 ABOUT THE COLLEGE
Pannalal Girdharlal Dayanand Anglo-Vedic (PGDAV) College is one of the
oldest constituent colleges of the top ranking University of Delhi. It was
founded in 1957 by a leading business house of Delhi M/s Pannalal Girdharlal
(having Corporates such as Victor Cables Corporation Ltd, BKG Energy Ltd,
Standard Wiring Systems Ltd, etc) and DAV College Managing Society

PGDAV College is a co-educational institution and is well-known for

excellence not only in academics but also in sports and other co-curricular
activities. It has eleven (11) teaching departments, offering undergraduate
courses in various disciplines of Arts, Commerce, Computer Science and
Mathematical Sciences. It also offers post graduate courses in four subjects,
viz. Commerce, Hindi, Maths and Political Science. Over the years the College
has emerged as a centre of excellence under the stewardship of its highly
qualified and experienced faculty.
 ABOUT THE COLLEGE
There are a number of societies and academic associations which
organize activities both at inter class and inter-college levels. This
provides ample opportunities to our students to express themselves
creatively, learn useful skills, broaden their horizons, and indulge in a
healthy spirit of competition. Through these societies, associations, and
even independently, our students have participated in academic and co-
curricular activities at various platforms and have brought honours for
themselves and for the college. Altogether, the students are provided
ample opportunities to hone their intellectual and cultural faculties.

The college strives to provide an environment that nurtures qualities of

humanism and inculcates values of team work in the students. Various
events are held in the college throughout the year, including the annual
college fest Aaghaz, where students are encouraged to actively
participate not just as spectators and participants but as organisers as
well. Excursions and field trips mainly with an academic and learning
objective, supplement these events and provide non-formal avenues to the
students to experience 360 degree learning.
 ABOUT THE COLLEGE
The College campus is Wi-Fi enabled and students have access to a fully
functional Computer Hub to explore internet and the resources offered by
Delhi University Library System.

The college magazine Ankur seeks to provide a platform to our students

for developing their writing and literary skills. The college has a
conference room, of a standard unmatched by most other colleges in the
university. It is a stage for hosting artistic, academic and cultural events.

The college is well-known for nurturing sports talent. The sportspersons

have been consistently bringing laurels not only to their own institution but
for our country as well.

To encourage our students to participate and excel in academic, co-

curricular and extracurricular activities; the college has instituted various
prizes which are awarded every year in recognition of merit in those fields.

 PLACEMENT CELL
Placement Cell aims at providing jobs to every student who intends to work
upon graduation. Apart from inviting companies to the college, we also
conduct workshops and seminars to prepare our students for the
recruitment drives, for this we have been inviting experts from the
corporate world and our in-house faculty .

Our Mission:

To provide sufficient training, in order to enhance the employability of our

students by conducting aptitude tests, group discussions and
presentations on communication skills, soft skills, facing HR and Technical
interviews.
To make the students aware about the corporate culture and career
opportunities by organizing guest lectures, workshops, seminars and
industrial trainings by experienced personnel from the Industry.
To partner with renowned organizations from the Industry and organize
recruitment drives for our students, within and outside the campus.

 The Placement session of 2014-15 was quite gratifying. Many
reputed companies like Aon Hewitt, Timespro, IBM Concentrix
Corporation and Teach for India graced our campus with their
presence. With over 500 applicants, last year the placement
procedure successfully placed over 200 students.
The quote Success is the sum of small efforts repeated day in
and out', truly defines the society. The placement cell has been
able to achieve what it has because of the hard work of its
coordinators and guidance from the faculty members of the
placement cell. I hope year 2015-16 will bring new opportunities
and brighter prospects for our students. I wish all the best to the

Through the window of Placement Cell, I got to peep inside myself-boost
up my strengths and work upon my weaknesses.
