Professional Goals
I am interested in teaching Social Studies at the secondary level. I have worked with English language
learners in the past and I would like to continue to do so. To this end, I am also working toward a TESOL
certification.
Internship Placement
2016-2017 Cass Technical High School, Detroit, MI
Taught 5 classes of US History for 9th grade. Class sizes ranged from 36-39 students.
Enhanced classroom management skills in a dynamic and challenging context. Planned
and executed units, lessons and activities alone and in collaboration with a mentor
teacher.
2009-2011 Guest English Teacher, EPIK, Noksan Middle School, Busan, South Korea
Managed classrooms with between 10 and 30 students, both alone and with a co-
teacher.
Taught middle school and high school students.
Created original lesson plans and adapted material from the internet and textbook
for classroom use.
Coached students preparing for speech contests.
Served as an evaluator for the Spoken English Level Tests of the Busan Metropolitan
City Office of Education on multiple occasions
