Pre-internship Field Experiences

Fall 2015 - Haslett Middle School, Haslett, MI

Spring 2016 Placement and related course were integrated and both occurred on site. Co-taught a
lesson on political parties during the Federalist Era that focused on good text skimming
skills. Mini-lessons on using texts, Socratic discussions and lecture helped me to see
what could be achieved within a single lesson.

Fall 2015 Waverly Middle School, Lansing, MI

Placement was two hours a week. Assignments included detailed observations of
Mentor Teacher, teaching a warm-up activity and work with a pair of focal students on
literacy strategies. Acquired new techniques to encourage content area and disciplinary
literacy in students.
