Band Code of Conduct

Conduct:
Behavior guidelines for band students have been take and compared
with the ISD Code of Conduct Handbook. Specific guidelines applicable
to this program are detailed in the Band Code of Conduct.

Positive Behavior will be reinforced in many different ways. It may

result in the possibility of a leadership position in band, whether an
officer or a section leader. Students become a good model to his or her
peers. Students will have time and attention needed in order to thrive
and achieve success in their band career. By taking responsibility for
their individual person, the directors will have to refrain from taking
disciplinary action and the organization can take steps to becoming a
strong community.

Rehearsal Behaviors and Guidelines:

No gum, food or drinks except for bottled water will be allowed in the
band hall. They are to be disposed of in trashcan outside of the front
door.
Be ready and seated before bell with instrument, and supplies
including but not limited to music, pencil, reeds, mouthpiece, valve oil.
Read the agenda on the board and be ready with pencil and music on
stand.
Raise your hand if you have a question, or need help.
Exemplify good rehearsal technique by not talking while director is on
the podium or working with another section or rehearsing a piece. Look
through your part of the piece and listen to others parts and see how
yours fits into it.
Be respectful of instruments and careful when near them because they
are expensive and easily breakable.
Instruments should remain in case unless student is practicing, in
rehearsal, sectionals or in a performance.
Make sure to lock locker so that nothing goes missing.
Backpacks should remain out of rehearsal space and against front wall
while in rehearsal.
Only student assigned to instrument will play on assigned instrument.
Improper language will not be tolerated and will be addressed.
