Theoretical calculation of drying rate at the constant-rate period

Convection, radiation and conduction heating are taken into account

1. On the Tools menu, click Options, then click the Calculation tab and tick on the Iteration
2. In the spreadsheet "Calculations"
a. Insert values for two of the parameters Ta, Tw, Wa, RH of the heating air in the cells C17-C20 (yellow
b. Insert values for the convective, radiant and overall heat transfer coefficient in the cells C22-C24. If
through the bottom of the tray are negligible set h r and/or U equal to 0.
c. Insert a value for the temperature of the radiating surface in the cell C25. If radiation is negligible in
d. Turn the "SWITCH" ON (set the value in the cell G2 (red cell) equal to 1 and press ENTER)
e. Iterate (by pressing F9) until the values in the green cells are constant. Read the results in the gree
f. To recalculate for different parameter values turn the "SWITCH" OFF (set the value in the cell G2 eq
