The History of North Korea and South Korea Conflict and It is Impact for International

After the world war two that started in 1939 until 1945, in this war there were two groups the
Alliance (England, France, Soviet Union, Poland, etc. And after Pearl Harbour incident United
State joined in world war two) and the main block (Italy, Germany, Austria, Hungary, and Japan)
against each other and it took a long time. As result the Alliance group won the war and after it
there just two power that still exist, Soviet Union and United State. But the two power have a
different ideology, the ideology of Soviet Union is communism, the communism more emphasis
the power of government and the ideology of United State is Liberalism that more emphasis
freedom for the individual to express their self. These two powers want to influence their
ideology to the world but for reached their target, they dont want to started the war again like
before, there is no more open war but they do closed war or its named The Cold War the way
they want to influence their ideology is to helped the country that have a conflict such as the
economy by lend the money, and military.

Their strategies to influence the ideology is succeeded, and it spread up in Asia region. Like in
Korea. Before world war two, in Korea Peninsula was colonized by Japan in 1910 until 1945
after the end of world war two Japan lost the war, their territory in Korea Peninsula, and the two
super powers United State and Soviet Union take over controlled in this area in 1945. After they
take over controlled there are two power sharing, in north Korea the Soviet Union that have
Communism ideology (but the side that support North Korea is also China) and in South Korea
the United State that have Liberalism ideology. In 1948 after the election in north Korea under
controlled by Soviet Union, and in South Korea under controlled by United Nation. The North
Korea that alliance with Soviet Union build the government with Communism ideology, the
appointment of their president and his name is Kim II Sung. For South Korea with support of
United State build the government with Liberalism ideology and their president is Syngman
Rhee. Next, from South Korea side want to unification for North and South Korea but it failed
 because in South Korea side they dont have capability to against North Korea. (Widyasari,
2014, pp. 22-23)
Then the war begun with civil war in 1950, the armies of North Korea started with absorbing
South Korea get through the 38 line and the North Korea armies could defeat the South Korea
for the first war. It was not the victory for North Korea for this battle because United Nation
armies led by United State under command general Douglas Mac Arthur, fight back the North
Korea. And in 1953 the civil war in Korea had end. After the end of this war, there was a cease-
fire between this two countries, both sides make a deal to make a separation zone and called
Demilitarization region And not take much time, the cold war end in 1980 but both for North
and South Korea they always compete each other from aspect economy, military, etc. (Widyasari,
2014, p. 24)

As we see, after the end of the cold war with Korea conflict the result is the separation of two
region and country, North and South Korea. Not just it, the International impact of this conflict in
social, economy, military, and politics. Significantly for aspect economy, military, and politics.
Like nuclear proliferation by North Korea that triggering conflicts with South Korea, issues that
occur are suspected nuclear development involving China and the US as a country that was
behind the two countries if we look at the history of the Korean War before it ended with a cease-
fire. The result of North Korea action, making Korea and the United States and other countries
concerned because they feared it would reignite the conflict increasing tension or nuclear war
would happen because both North and South Korea increasing their nuclear weapon and anti-
nuclear missile. Otherwise South Korea, United State, and Japan conduct joint military exercises,
followed by china and North Korea and Russia to work together as well, but more directed to the
cooperation of China and North Korea, remember China provide assistance in the form of
support diplomacy for North Korea and import energy from china. (Angga Aditama P, pp. 9-13).

The act of North Korea increasingly aggressive in conducting nuclear test alarmed the countries
in the world including Asia. The latest development of this conflict in 2017, involving
neighboring countries such as Japan, South Korea, and China three nations large magnitude in
Asia have tried to have a meeting to deepen the cooperation, but it will be difficult for these three
countries because the sentiment the old days of conflict related to North Korea also political
issues faced by South Korea and the US (Berita Sore Online, 2017).
 Recently president of North Korea Kim Jong Un said their country will soon test an
intercontinental ballistic missile - which could carry a nuclear warhead (Kristanti, 2017) In
my opinion statement from Kim Jong Un will make International politics increasingly tense and
conflict of North Korea will be on the agenda of conflict resolution in the UN.
