OBOX-OB
Obox-ob is the surviving aspect of the Prince of Demons following its murder by the Queen of Chaos. It
commands the 663rd layer of the Abyss, a vermin-infested wasteland known as Zionyn. Obox-ob is an obyrith,
a type of demon far older than the tanar'ri. Obox-ob despises the tanar'ri and hopes to cleanse them from the
Abyss, taking back his title from Demogorgon and leading the obyriths against the eladrin, who played a part
in his downfall. Obox-ob is worshipped primarily by evil vermin, and the demons that inhabit his layer of the
Abyss have numerous temples and effigies erected in his honor.
OBOX-OBS LAIR
Obox-ob makes his lair in the wilderness of a layer of the Abyss known as Zionyn. The layer itself is a
system of deep canyons infested with vermin of all kinds. Obox-obs rage has caused endless destruction
throughout the layer. Here his worshippers revel in Obox-obs rage and repugnance while swarms of Chasme
demons gather around him to form a symphony cacophonous droning. The droning is so maddening that once
the sound of the droning is heard the victim never gets it out of their heads. Obox-ob plots his revenge on this
layer and always has colonies of vermin infested within the canyons of Zionyn.
LAIR ACTIONS
On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), Obox-ob can take a lair action to cause one of the following
effects; Obox-ob cant use the same effect two rounds in a row:
Obox-ob hops his speed and every creature in the square that he ends his movement on must succeed
on a DC 19 Dexterity saving throw, if the save is failed the target is pushed 5 feet and is knocked prone.
On a success the target is pushed 10 ft and not prone.
Obox-ob emits a wave of poisonous gas; all creatures within 30 ft must succeed on a DC 22
Constitution saving throw or take 33 (6d10) poison damage and receives the poisoned condition until
the end of their next turn. On a success the creature suffers half the damage and is not poisoned.
Up to three swarms or beasts that are friendly to Obox-ob and that Obox-ob can see use their
reactions to move up to their speed and make one melee attack.
REGIONAL EFFECTS
The region containing Obox-obs lair is warped by his magic, creating one or more of the following effects:
The land in the area within 6 miles of the lair becomes infested with every kind of vermin swarm. Food,
water and crops are all spoiled within this area.
Due to the droning of the swarm, all creatures within 6 miles of the lair become more susceptible to
poisons and disease of any kind. All saves to resist poisons or disease are made with disadvantage, and
all Charisma skill checks are made with disadvantage.
If a humanoid spends at least 1 hour within 1 mile of the lair, that creature must succeed on a DC 22
Wisdom saving throw or descend into madness determined by the Madness of Obox-ob table. A
creature that succeeds on this saving throw cant be affected by this regional effect again for 24 hours.
MADNESS OF OBOX-OB
If a creature goes mad in Obox-obs lair or within line of sight of the demon lord, roll on the Madness of
Obox-ob table to determine the nature of the madness, which is a character flaw that lasts until cured. See the
Dungeon Masters Guide for more on madness
