Big Bear Choppers

Stainless 2-Into-1

I f youve been in the custom

motorcycle scene for a while, chances
are youve heard of Big Bear Choppers.
What used to be long and low choppers
has transitioned to performance-
minded components that deliver in
quality and style. Big Bears newest
shorty stainless 2-into-1 exhaust setup
for baggers is a cool-looking unit that
sounds great and definitely adds some
ponies to your choked-out scoot.

THE FACTS
Made from high-quality stainless tubing, the
shorty 2-into-1 exhaust pipe weighs only
8 pounds and features a handmade merge
collector design. The 2-1 steps up from 1-3/4
inches at the heads to 1-11/16 inches at the
collector until reaching the beefy 4-inch
muffler. This combo definitely adds some
quality performance gains as weve tested in
our Sound-Off Exhaust video series. Also,
the 2-into-1 was developed by Yoshimuras
research and development race team but
definitely doesnt skimp on some Big Bear flair.

FINISH
Available in raw stainless or black ceramic
coat.

FIT
Fits 20002016 Harley-Davidson
Touring models.

We are back at it with the Road King
project, which, for those who do not
know, is a 2009 Road King that has been
a project of ours for the past year and
a half. We have a built Screamin Eagle
Stage 4 engine in the bike. When the
engine was built the roller rocker arms
and tappets were not added due to being
as broke as a joke, but now I was able to
spring for them.
The benefits to adding roller rocker
arms is not hard to grasp. Less noise,
less friction, more power. We got the
roller rocker arms from Screamin Eagle
(part # 17378-98, $469.95) and we also
decided to throw in a set of the tappets 1 2
as well (part # 18572-13, $249.95). The

the same as the rocker arms: less noise,
less friction, and more power. They also
should be used when installing bigger
cams and doing major performance
upgrades to the engine, making it less
likely to have a tappet blowout, and
our motor has been upgraded quite
a bit. Something else we decided to
add was the Screamin Eagle Rocker
Arm Support Plates (part # 17675-01B,
$159.95). These have increased strength
to handle the increased loads from
higher lift cams, which we have.
All in all, its the attention to detail when
building a bike that matters, especially
when focusing on the engine. The
upgrades we did here are a great addition

J
eremy Williams has always been a lowrider, mini
truck, hot rod type of guy. Hes the sort of dude
whos never been able to leave anything stock. Up
until 2012, though, all of his work has been of the
four-wheeled variety. What youre seeing is the rst
motorcycle hes ever owned.
In 2008 he and his wife bought their rst home. Every
weekend he would wake up to the rumble of his next-door
neighbors and their friends heading out for a Sunday ride.
I didnt care for the look of the Harleys, he says. I liked
sportbikes better.
That was not to last, however. As he got to know the
neighbors better, he started paying more attention to the
details of the Harleys and started liking them more and
more. By June of 2012, he was hooked and bought his
rst and only bike. And then he took the trouble to get his
permit. After about a month he and his wife went to meet
up with their neighbors and some of their friends. That
night he made more friends than he did the whole time
he was in school growing up. It was a pretty spectacular
experience for Jeremy, as you can imagine.
Fourth of July weekend saw Jeremy and his wife
meeting Jerry and Kim Jackson. Over the next three years,
with many bike rallies and trips, times were great. That all

Bagger, Best of Show, and Best Paint. It has
been a hard road, but this is his way of coping
with Jerrys death. By taking it to every show
he can, he spreads Jerrys memory.
Since this was a very heartfelt personal
build, Jeremy chose artists who were close
to his own history to make it happen:
Building the bike, I picked the people I
grew up admiring as a teenager like Danny
D., the worlds best lowrider painter, and just
went from there.
While building the motor Jeremy
remembered that Jerry always wished
his bike were a six-speed, so he
changed his transmission out
to a six-speed. When it was all
said and done, it is obvious how
Jeremy came up with the name
Blue Diamond. He wanted
something different there on
the East Coast other than the
traditional big-wheel bagger.
So with the help of Danny D. and LA Baggers
for the paint and The Seat Guy with their
custom handmade seat, Jeremy is the proud
owner of what he feels is the baddest West
Coast-style bagger on the East Coast.

How is the value of my motorcycle assessed?
The value of your motorcycle is determined based on its actual cash

Since a ground-up custom motorcycle tends to have one-of-a-kind

SCREAMIN STEVE
// Good ol Screamin Steve from
New York built a pretty wild custom
bagger out of a 2010 Honda Fury.
Steve rode it stock for a bit until he
decided it was time to give it the
bagger treatment. And as you can
see, Steve denitely did more of a
custom bagger spin above all else.
In fact, everything except the frame
and motor was custom built by
Steve in his garage over the course
of a year and a half. Aside from
all the custom bodywork, he also
included a 400-watt stereo system
with Bluetooth for rocking in the
free world during his rides and full
LED lights front and rear in order to
see and be seen!
