Responsibilities included: Completing external and internal painting projects in a low-
income housing development, doing various construction tasks (such as hanging
insulation, sanding interior walls, staining cabinets, etc.), removing an invasive tree
species at an overnight campsite for children, teaching lessons about insects and other
natural topics to children aged 6-12, filling food and household item requests as well as
sorting clothing donations at a food and clothing bank, recruiting high school and
college-aged people for the AmeriCorps program, compiling and editing a detailed
portfolio for each project round, sorting and shipping medical supplies to countries in
need, and teaching other team members about service learning.

set and met goals in four areas: Voluntary public service, physical fitness, personal
